SMPAPHM's 16th Annual Sports Clay
Among the participating houses were Melor, Cempaka, Teratai and Mawar house.
The overall winner with the most gold medals collected was Teratai house headed by Cikgu Ezdiani Farizan Haji Ibrahim followed by Mawar house in second, Melor house in third and Cempaka house in forth.
The event started with mass aerobics by Cikgu Sitty Wartynah binti Haji Md Sambas.
Representing the guest of honour was Hj Yusof Hj Metasim. He said, "This event is aimed at cultivating the spirit of sports among students as well as to discipline themselves as potential leaders."
He also stressed that, "Doing physical and mental sporting activities will result in positive attitudes for the individual and will help prevent students from being influenced by unhealthy activities."
Also present at the event was the principal of SMPAPHM, Cikgu Gazala binti Abdullah.
Some 20 sports were contested such as the javelin throw, the 1,500 metre sprint, shot putt, disc throwing, high jump and the 4 x 400 metres relay.
This year, SMPAPHM has sent a contingent of students to participate in sports at the regional level such as the Badminton Asia Junior Championship in Kuala Lumpur and the Swimming Championship in Singapore.-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
