“CALFORNIA WOMAN” in PANGUNG PETANG SABTU
this Saturday will be aired on RTB at 1.00 pm

A large earthquake jars Los Angeles, revealing an ancient ice flow in the Hollywood Hills. Released after eons of imprisonment is a prehistoric woman (Katherine Kousi), whose long "beauty" sleep has definitely paid off. Intrigued by the glittering "fires" below her, she makes her way down the hill and intothe savage land that is Southern California.

The next morning on the streets of Hollywood, David Horsenfelt (Corey Parker) is stopped in a traffic jam when the wild-eyed cave woman jumps on his car. Startled, David honks his horn to scare her away, and she runs off into the heart of Hollywood, where she blends in with the locals quite nicely.

David arrives at his dead-end job at B&S Advertising, with his mind set on asking the boss, Marvin Beckler (Jay Thomas), for a promotion. Unfortunately, Marvin isn't having a good day -- his biggest client, the successful clothing designer Jean Michel (John Kassir) is extremely unhappy with Beckler's ad campaign for his new "Primal" perfume. What Jean Michel wants is a real "primal" woman.

Never very good at timing, David picks this moment to barge in and ask for his promotion. Taking the opportunity to vent some of his pent-up anger, Marvin fires David. David is distraught, but his friend Roger (Chris Hogan), tells him to come to the "Primal" photo shoot the next day where Marvin will be up to his eyeballs in gorgeous models and in a much better mood.

So dejected is David that he fails to notice that the cave woman has followed him home. When she begins stalking David's cat, he realizes the woman is hungry and offers her left-over pizza. She devours the pizza and every other morsel in David's refrigerator. The commotion brings David's neighbor and best friend, Chris (Annabelle Gurwitch), a sarcastic but sweet pre-school teacher who is into continual self-improvement. Arriving wearing a green face mask, blue hair dye, and a plastic body wrap, Chris terrifies the cave woman who retreats to a nearby tree for the night.

The next day at the "Primal" fashion shoot, "very-very" fashion photographer Raji (Ric Overton) and Jean Michel are arguing with the spoiled, pretentious model Ivana (Elisa Donovan). David tries to talk Marvin into rehiring him, but he is interrupted by the sudden appearance of the cave woman, still looking wild and scary in her animal skins.

Shocked that she has followed him, David recovers enough to introduce her as "Lucy," his cousin. Jean Michel is entranced with her. He's found his "Primal" woman.

Meanwhile, Chris has managed to teach Lucy a few words of English. Her vocabulary now consists of "yes" and "hun-ga-ry," giving Marvin the idea that she's Hungarian. He orders David to improve Lucy's English, so David enrolls her in an ESL class for immigrants. Lucy's ESL teacher, Javier (Clarence Williams III) is a true anarchist who teaches his class essential words like "revolution," "be free" and "love yourself."

When the first photos of Lucy as the "Primal" woman appear, the cave woman is an overnight sensation. She appears on talk shows including "Mike & Maty" and repeats the only words she knows: "be free," "revolution," "don't starve" and "love yourself." Women around the country begin going "Primal," rejecting make-up, smashing their scales and eating what they want.

David suddenly feels threatened by Lucy's success. Confused by David's attitude, Lucy runs away. She meets a strange guru (Bobcat Goldthwait) who tells her that her old life is lost; she must learn to adjust to her new life.

David soon comes to his senses and realizes that he and Lucy belong together. He sneaks into the fashion show and tries to blend in by donning a "Primal" loin cloth. As models walk the runway in Jean Michel's oddly prehistoric clothes, Lucy has finally had enough of the fashion world. She snarls and hurls the "Primal" perfume bottle she is carrying at the audience, peeling off her wig and most of her clothing. The audience follows her every move, ripping off their own wigs and tight clothes. Jean Michel and Marvin race out onto the runway after Lucy with several security men, as David swings down from the rafters and carries Lucy away to safety.

But Lucy isn't safe yet; the immigration authorities want to deport her as an illegal alien. Lucy will be on her way to Hungary unless she marries a U.S. citizen.

After eons of imprisonment, a prehistoric woman is released from an ancient ice flow when an earthquake hits California. Free at last, the wild-eyed cave woman encounters ad man David Horsenfelt, and through a combination of David's misfortune and her good luck, she becomes the new "Primal Woman" in a perfume ad campaign. An overnight sensation, the cave woman's new-found fame takes her to the talk show circuit where her lack of communication skills suddenly has women everywhere revolting to become more "Primal." And through her conversion from prehistoric woman to ad pitchwoman, "Lucy," David realizes he has "feelings" for this primitive being. But one obstacle stands in the way of Lucy and David's happiness - she's now facing deportation.

“SEVEN” in TAYANGAN GAMBAR this Sunday
will be aired on RTB at 8.50 pm

Director David Fincher's dark, stylish thriller ranks as one of the decade's most influential box-office successes. Set in a hellish vision of New York, where it is always raining and the air crackles with impending death, the film concerns Det. William Somerset (Morgan Freeman), a homicide specialist just one week from a welldeserved retirement.

Every minute of his 32 years on the job is evident in Somerset's wom, exhausted face, and his soul aches with the pain which can only come from having seen and felt far too much.

But Somerset's retirement must wait for one last case, for which he is teamed with young hotshot David Mills (Brad Pitt), the fiery detective set to replace him at the end of the week. Mills has talked his reluctant wife Tracy (Gwyneth Paltrow) into moving into the big city so that he could tackle important cases, but his first and Somerset's last are more than either man has bargained for. A diabolical serial killer is staging grisly murders, choosing victims representing the seven deadly sins. First, an obese man is forced to eat until his stomach ruptures to represent Gluttony, then a wealthy defense lawyer is made to cut off a pound of his own flesh as penance for Greed.

Somerset initially refuses to take the case, realizing that there will be five more murders, ghastly sermons about Lust, Sloth, Pride, Wrath, and Envy presented by a madman to a sinful world. Somerset is correct, and something within him cannot let the case go, forcing the weary detective to team with Mills and see the case to its almost unspeakably horrible conclusion. The moody photography is by Darius Khondji; the nauseatingly vivid special effects are by makeup artist Rob Bottin, best known for more fantasyoriented work in films like The Howlinq (1981). “RUSH HOUR” in TAYANGAN GAMBAR this Thursday
will be aired on RTB at 10.30 pm

Brett Ratner directed this action-comedy that found box-office success by teaming Chris Tucker with Jackie Chan -- performing his own stunts as per his earlier films. As the story begins, Hong-Kong supercop Lee's (Chan), detective savvy leads to the confiscation of $500 million in weapons, drugs, and Chinese art.

When Hong Kong Chinese Consul Han (Tzi Ma), is sent on a diplomatic mission to Los Angeles, his 11year-old daughter, Soo Young (Julia Hsu), is abducted by an international criminal mastermind.

The FBI assures Han they will find the kidnappers and return her safely, yet Han only trusts his longtime friend and ally (also his daughter's beloved martial arts teacher) Inspector Lee, who immediately flies in to help. Unwilling to have an outsider interfere in their investigation, the FBI assigns rogue LAPD detective (and buffoon) James Carter (Chris Tucker) to the case.

Hoping to impress the FBI, Carter enthusiastically reports for work but is dismayed to discover his real mission is only to keep Lee away from the case (read b-a-b-y-s-i-t-t-e-r). The arrogant Carter reacts by embarking on a one-man crusade to solve the case, but he must first distract Lee.

It doesn't take Carter long before he realizes he has greatly underestimated his Hong Kong counterpart, who sees what's going on and slips away. Impatient FBI agents try to cast off these unwanted misfit cops, but with an assist from LAPD bomb expert Tania Johnson (Elizabeth Pena), Carter and Lee eventually confront the bad guys in a full-tilt action sequence.
