| Sorry
for the Family of dead in injured people:
We were quite shocked when we heard this story. Just keep our
eyes on calendar and wait for the on broad reunion at Bangkok
Port on the coming 4th of October. Just read the details of the
story in the WWW.Bruneidirect.com,
and can't believe this accident could happen. This must be the
first and very serious accident even happened since we have run
the program over 28th years. I was the participant youth
of 13th program in 1986. What I can only say is SORRY for the
FAMILIES of the unfortunate persons who are dead and injured in
this accident. Don't know what will be the effect of the
following years program. At least every party must take more
care in considering the safety of all the delegations and
participants. Mr. Ittipat Pattaramekanon ittipat_pattaramekanon@acl.co.th

Tragic
Accident:
first of all I would like to covey my condolences to the
families of the deceased and I pray that may ALLAH bless them
all. There are few points I would like to stress here my first
point is that in any occasion especially when international
delegations came to Brunei, I can see that there is a lots of
traffic police with their sirens escorting these foreign
delegates to avoid any traffic or for safety purposes. but in
this tragedy, there is not even one traffic police or escort,
escorting the buses and there are also indeed foreign delegates
visiting our peaceful country! And we may not be needing to see
our visitors involved in a very bad mishap like this.
Second, the LTD had issued the speed warning indicators,
especially to heavy vehicles. and I or maybe Bruneians can see
that this just what Malay proverb said "Hangat Hangat Tahi
Ayam' or 'Melepaskan Batuk di Tangga', the what they call 'Speed
Limit Indicator' is just a program not something to enforce.
I have some questions, this so call "Speed Limit
Indicator" have it own mission and if it have, are there
any law to enforce the use of this indicator? Which section of
Traffic Act, amendment or just being enforce recently? And I
notice that these SLI can be switched off easily and when any
roadblock ahead, the driver just plugs in the fuse back or the
power cable. I think there is something special about this
device, the LTD officials should check the company that supplied
these devices, are they capable to supply the device that
follows their requirements?
Lastly, I hope that we learnt something from this tragic
tragedy, we should improve the road safety, road conditions, and
enforce a strict law especially to those heavy vehicles,
drivers, and please escort any foreign delegates visiting to our
country don’t care whether they are VIPs or youths. RydeL
