might ring a bell!!

Trainees not being paid and that Foreign Consultant who filed a
report!!!! Now what you failed to find out was the other side of
the true story! You should be more neutral next time or may be
more brilliantly organised with your research so that we

| RoadRage:
Been
living in Brunei for some years, I must say that vehicles don't
kill. It is what behind the steering wheel that does the
killing. Undoubtedly drivers need to control the art of speed.
Educated driver will drive sensibly than the ignorant. So you
fellow drivers, please control yourself.

Honestly
I get fed up reading your news because, all the advertisers are
mostly covering it, why don’t you put all ads in one page like
www.kumudam.com ,,,
c'mon be strategic, it's so dead site at all!!! think for a
change not all those big ads are mostly seen, why don’t you
put banners on line instead of news online??? If that’s the
case. gwendeline casco gc@pacific.sg.net

| Let's
us say a prayer: Hi
fellow py's. Just got the news of the death of Akiko Shinohara (AKO)
in Brunei during the Ship program and was saddened by the news.
I had a chance to get to know her after the SIGA 2001 Thailand
and she was keeping in touch with me on the this year program.
She was very excited and was looking forward to be on board
Nippon Maru again, just like many of us. Let's pray for
her and wish her to be in a better world. I will miss her
and I am sure all of us will miss her as well. Pass this around
to all fellows py's around the region and let the spirits of
SSEAYP live on together with AKO Chan, she will be happy to know
that she will always live in the heart of this spirit. AKO
Chan, keep smiling. Victor Yeong vikthor@pacific.net.sg

| Beating
the Redlight:
Never try beating the red light! The bus driver had his last
chance to beat the red light. These bus drivers have to be
trained! Hope Grace is all right. Please convey my message to
her that we are praying for her quick recovery and hope she
returns to Singapore soon to be with her family who must be
extremely worried for her. (The 10 year old brother of Nadir who
is also in the ship Nippon Maru). Abbas Zafar abbaszafar@hotmail.com

| Drive
Carefully:
I think the drivers of buses should drive carefully! The Speed
Limit should be at most 90km/h, and imagine the grief of the
families of the dead. Speeding is the no.1 road killer. Prevent
it! Abbas Zafar abbaszafar@hotmail.com

Need
improvements before Tele-Medicine:
It is a good idea to have Tele-Medicine in Brunei Darussalam but
before starting these modern things, the authorities should
improve a lot of other hospital functions. For example:
1) Medicine supply. Common phenomenon to observe the necessary
medicines are many a time out of stock.
2) Pharmaceutical Services - Improvements in Out-Patient
Pharmacy, Polyclinic Pharmacy and In-Patient Pharmacy. The
country has yet to have a Satellite Pharmacy in hospitals in
Brunei.
3) Need to network all the hospital services soon before
Tele-medicine can be implemented.
4) Medical record system needs urgent upgrading. Ali Ahmad

| Amedeo
Bankruptcy: Be
it you are overseas and fear of returning to Brunei, you are
still liable to stand trial in a court of law. The Prince
returned and faced the court, why aren't his cronies?
These people are the true gold diggers of our nation. Our
court of law should not just only insist on Danny Wong stand
trial via video conferencing, if you have a part in the demise
of the company, you should stand trail and face the court of law
in person. After all, Danny Wong knew in the first place what
and where Amedeo was heading for. He bloody well knew how
to reap the profits, but when the business failed, he cowardly
runs into hiding!!!! How can we let irresponsible people
like this be leaders in our business community?? Joel Ng

all Danny Wong’s assets and hang him:
Dear All Bruneians,
It is evident that Danny Wong is mishandling his authority. He
should return or Brunei government should confiscate all his
asset and put him away for the rest of his life. What I don't
understand is how can a low life like Danny Wong can be
consultant or even a MD to any company? johnny Wong j_wong@yahoo.com

Empire
Hotel:
I have stayed a few times in The Empire and it is absolutely
fantastic!! Besides the fact that the hotel has not many guests
and I was the only person enjoying the pool, it is a magnificent
place.
Unfortunately the PR for this resort is not organised it seems,
no publicity is made and no wonder people don't know about the
existence of the place!!
It would be a shame for Brunei if this place would have to
close! For one's Brunei has something to offer with style!! But,
why is it that the Brunei people do not use this facility to
enjoy themselves...it has the best and only nice restaurants in
the little country but...it is so sad to see that there is more
staff (the most friendly I ever met) than visitors!
I hope that the head of the country realises that it would be a
shame for his country and himself if this story would get the
headlines in many papers again. The image as "the riches
country in the world" has long gone and it is time for
change!
It is time that the Sultanate starts to rethink their policies
if they are willing to attracted tourists!! And make it into an
attractive place!!! Why not look at other Muslim places like
Dubai, where tourism is booming because people feel welcome and
are not put up with plenty of restrictions before they get out
of the plane!
Brunei could be a great holiday destination but it needs to
change!! This does not mean that it cannot keep it's own culture
but it means that it starts to think how it can become a happy
place where people feel Free! Ann Kaelen happysnake@hotmail.com

| Telecom:
In Singapore and Malaysia the Telecom is privatised, so the
Corporations and the Management take criticisms seriously so as
to improve the service to the public. I sincerely welcome
this change and hope that will happen in Brunei as well. Haji
