Big Bad Wolf VS The Pig RE: Sheep in the Big City: I
still believe the word " you

angry? BBW (Big Bad Wolf) only warn muslimin and muslimat not to eat
pork! this posting are only referring to muslims all around the world!
I repeat his introductory sentence" To all MUSLIMIN and MUSLIMAT. Below is just something to know about. PORK AWARENESS"
So why should you react? He is just giving advise to Bruneian
Muslims especially tourist and students not to eat Bak Kut Teh as this
is a popular dish especially where I used to stay! Kuala lumpur! I
repeat If u feel insulted just because it is your favourite dish, Two
advise I want to give to you! First read the part "To all MUSLIMIN and MUSLIMAT. Below is just something to know about. PORK AWARENESS"
again and again and again until you figure out the who is it intended
for,! or go to the supermarket and buy 1 ton of pork and eat all you
can! Don't stop eating until you are really really full! |six|31.10.2003 |

Eating Satay: To all satay lovers. I just
came across this info from a friend. I dont know how true this is but
just for your information.
SATAY LOVERS
If you all eat satay, don't ever forget to eat the cucumber, because
eating satay together with carbon after barbequing can cause cancer.
But we have a cure for that... Cucumber should be eaten after we eat
the satay because satay has carsinogen (a cancer causing element) but
cucumber is anti-carsinogenic.
So don't forget to eat the cucumber the next time you have satays.Big

To Critizecritize: Hey browy... I do take
things positively ..don't worry.:)... I realized I talk rubbish
though...ok.look. let’s talk from the start... I’m still learning
English. And I’m still struggling with my English either speaking or
writing. English essays need a good structure right. But I just can’t
structured my essay. Ooh yes esp the content.. it isn't easy for me to
structure mine though ..so everything I posted were all rubbish..and I
realized that.. But hey. what chickychicky had said was really direct
and the way he pointed out his points. It hurts me man but I don't
mind because I know who I am. A loser in English.
Why I write stuff in HYS? You know why. I’m not even interested in
HYS anyways.. But then because in school we got this ' open minded'
subject..so I think HYS is an okay place for me to read or learn what
people have in mind so that probably I can think broadly too?
Actually, I was just planning to read the people's comment or argument
and just keep what I think by myself. But then.. I feel like I wanna
write something too. So I wrote rubbish because I wanna see what will
happen next... But don't worry. I won’t post any comments. No more. I
will just read it.
I always ask my friend to check my essay but not my HYS.:)
Im not mad or what so ever about chicky chicky's comment about me. I
do take his comments positively. But hey.. the way he acted or the
style of his comments are juz the same as like the people who stuck up
their nose so high. And bro. I do stuff, like talk in sms and
netchatting..but when I get bored .. I will do stuff that I never do
coz ...ah .nevermind. Hey bulan puasa got nothing to do with the
sensitivity of a person(I think..eheh)..its juz .people are overwhelm
with their emotion when they believe what they think is true. Oh ya.I
admit im sensitive coz im a girl but hey.. patient is what I keep in
me. Btw..Thankz dude..i mean bro? Chicky chicky shud use ur style of
commenting. v(^_^)v

Agree!!: I can't agree more with the mad
attitude shown by the E-Speed users (including myself). The speed is
not much different compared to BruNet. Not to forget, with this
so-called 'no speed', how is it possible to charge its users at least
$98 a month? It is really expensive for only a speed of minimum
128kbp. Comparing it abroad, this price ($98) should at least worth a
speed which is higher than 128kbps. It's time to upgrade E-Speed. The
way this service now is really far behind compared with international
standard. Lastly, do I need to compare the prices of E-Speed to
internet service from other country again? Better save my energy as
it’s totally disappointing. Jas

Big Bad Wolf VS The Pig : Dear Big Bad
Wolf,
Ironically you yourself are a scavenging species...so I can understand
the mouthful of words coming from you concerning pork...Ever heard of
the saying another mans meat is another mans poison? Pork is haram for
all Muslims but certainly not 'tainted' as you the 'Big Bad Wolf' has
put it out to be. In the world's food consumption, pork is one of the
LEADING MEAT FOOD SOURCE (chew on that!! Pardon the pun...) feeding
millions of humans and this includes children...I don't hear any non
Muslim nation dying of severe internal parasitic infestation from pork
itself...Sodas or known intelligently as carbonated drinks do not
contain miraculous chemicals that can drive 'worms' out of meat
instantaneously!!! Its purely carbonated water!!! With Sugar!!! If it
would work on pork...why are we not using this test in the lab for
other meat as well??? Sheer genius? Or plain ignorance? Be your own
judge... Taniae solium is a tapeworm yes...Monieza expansa is another
common tapeworm..Found where? In ruminants..meaning ALL COWS,
BUFFALOES, GOATS AND SHEEP...it is zoonotic as well...Why not
mention those? Obviously Big Bad Wolf does not know the exact origin
of the pork meat in question. They come from FARMS...Cemented
FARMS...They are reared intensively for economic reasons so kept
indoors on CEMENTED FLOORED FARMS...Thus...NO MORE PROBLEMS OF
INTERNAL PARASITES...For your information, pork meat consumed of this
farm origins managed to eradicate parasitic problems form pig
farming...If you mean the wild kind as in wild boar (VERY HARD TO FIND
THESE DAYS!!) it has the same intestinal parasitic infestation of that
the local kampong chicken...So what's the deal? Don't judge and spit
on what you think is bad...Ignorance is even worst...You touched on
bacteria and 'Latent diseases' in pork meat...Salmonellosis is a
leading a public health issue to date...Found in ALL
MEAT...regardless what it is...Bovine Spongiform Encephalitis (BSE)
is a latent disease as well...Remember the hype about it? Where was it
found in? Yup...Cattle and Buffalo meat...Guess who eats that? OOpss
I think you do big bad wolf...So before pork becomes another issue
(AGAIN!!)...be aware of what you say and quote...as well as the next
beef burger you eat!!!...Oh yeah...I'm a veterinarian...Certified as
well...So I kid you not... Sheep in the Big City

Regarding the name of St Angela's School:
tj, It is highly insulting to highlight only one school with the
name saint since there are many other schools which have the name
"saint" in it. This school has been in Brunei for more than 40 yrs
and the system is changing to suit the Brunei MIB standards.
Doesn't mean it carries the name "saint", the school should be
torn down. This school has many memories in it and it's not fair
to bring religions into it. This school has been involved in many
religious activities and won some nasyid competitions. The problem
for you is that it bears the name "saint" in it. Please.. don’t
judge it that way. It's like you're saying that we should take
action on churches and temples we have here in Brunei due to the
different teachings. I know you are concerned about Islam and
proud to see that you're trying to do something to let it dominate
in this country. But what you posted here could be insulting for
people of different religions other than yours. Questions

Jibberish English: Dear Zink Xitto. I
do agree with Chickychicky. I don’t like his style of comment. He
is too blunt, crude and straight to the point but his point is
valid. You do talk kind of "rubbish", what you have written,
commented and posted. The topics are interesting. I also like to
read but it takes me sometimes to understand what you are trying
to say. Points that you wish to highlight. You see your topic on
Critizing LIz, please ask your friend to read the content. I don’t
think he will understand right away. Maybe after few times, he
will understand. (If he is an honest friend he will tell the
truth). Topic on Mihir kali Ah is still not clear. Topic on To
Prof a bit better. This is an interesting topic where you support
teachers. You see if people support each other on this HYS about a
topic maybe, just maybe, some people might notice the benefit and
take action. So you have to write so that people understand your
message.
After having said that my dear friend, once you post anything on
the HYS, you will either get good comment or bad comment or
support. If you don’t want people to criticize you then don’t
write on HYS, talk on SMS, or go netchatting. Hey friend, take the

I got money from direct sales heheh: I
just earn more than 250 dollars from direct sales. You can do if
you have seen the compensation plan and the effectiveness of the
product.
Once you know the benefits then next, you need to learn how to
approach and be honest not to lie (create good reputation). And
know what to say to which category of clients. Then you will be
successful just like me. Most important is to join those direct
sales which have the best benefits and new in Brunei. Then it will
sure give you success. I am from KB. If it interests you, we can

4age: I don’t do the tuning. I’m still
learning and playing around with the engine management. To tune,
you need the software for it, getting the cam setting hmmmm.. If
you have set the cams and the cranks to tdc as in zero -zero then
you should be able to just turn the whole without getting stuck.
Open the valve, cover up and see if the cams and everything as is
fine. But how many markings on the crank pulley are there? Maybe
you have lined it up to btdc instead of tdc. If you have more than
1 marking, I’m not familiar with other engines except for honda b
series. Self taught though, you sounded more experience than me.
Why do you want the tuning job done on the SL? Unless you’ve done
some mods (fuel wise) on to it...just mail me next time at

Stop whining E-Speed users: Why oh why
do E-speed users keep on whining that E-speed is damn slow or no
good connection. I've been an E-Speed user since E-Speed was first
introduced in Brunei back then. There have been some good and bad
experiences with speed. Compare to this week, people are
complaining about slow service of E-Speed. Come on, E-Speed was
just jumping to a new server. Stop complaining just because
E-Speed flunked this week. I had an experience with E-Speed where
no connection at all for like almost the whole month because of
E-Speed server link to US was busted. Did I get mad? Of course,
but did I post complaint about that? No, because clearly on the
local paper and press release, E-Speed said that their link to US
was busted and that was enough for me to know rather than being "ARGHHH
E-SPEED YOU ARE SO UNRELIABLE". So stop complaining already. It’s
not that your going to be dead or what, plus JTB did mention users
will be having some COMPLICATIONS upon connecting to the net. If
you're comparing E-Speed with other broadband connection in other
countries better not to because Brunei's market is so small and
the other countries like Singapore, their market is big. Come on
lah Brunei has not even reached the half million mark population
and Singapore's beyond the number of a million. SO STOP WHINING
ALREADY! IT’S NOT EVEN A MONTH AND E-SPEED USERS ALREADY START TO
GET AN ITCH! If you want to have good connection get yourself a

Brunei schools a luxury: I think you
are a retired teacher from a neighouring country working in
Brunei. Where in Brunei secondary schools do local teachers have
half a day only? Most teachers have to be in school from 7.15 am
to 4.30 pm. The school days and school holidays have a strange
way of being computed. School days do not include Fridays and
Sundays but school holidays include Fridays and Sundays making the
holidays look very long!!! Local teachers are required to be in
school during holidays if they do not apply for leave. Leave can
only be granted during school holidays. No wonder most teachers
aspire to be administrators. That’s where the power and promotions
are located.
No doubt some teachers like to pamper their students which is good
to some extent but do give them flexibility in their work and time
management. Do not overload them with too much teaching, marking
and expecting them to care for the students 25 hours a day which
the MOE would like to do if possible. Teachers are not super human
beings. Why do students perform very badly in public examination?
MOE should revamp the school structures and system. Prof

Something you should know about PORK : To
all MUSLIMIN and MUSLIMAT. Below is just something to know about.
PORK AWARENESS
Try this and see whether the pork you bought has worms. There goes
with your "Bak Kut Teh" for those who love it. Most men love to eat
this so watch out before it's too late. If you pours Coke (yes, the
soda) on a slab of pork, wait a little while, you will SEE WORMS crawl
out of it. A message from the Health Corporation of Singapore about
the Bad effects of pork consumption. Pig's bodies contain MANY TOXINS,
WORMS and LATENT DISEASES.
Although some of these infestations are harboured in other animals,
modern veterinarians say that pigs are far MORE PREDISPOSED to these
illnesses than other animals. This could be because PIGS like to
SCAVENGE and will eat ANY kind of food, INCLUDING dead insects, worms,
rotting carcasses, excreta including their own, garbage, and other
pigs. INFLUENZA (flu) is one of the MOST famous illnesses which pigs
share with humans. This illness is haboured in the LUNGS of pigs
during the summer months and tends to affect pigs and human in the
cooler months.Sausage contains bits of pigs' lungs, so those who EAT
pork sausage tend to SUFFER MORE during EPIDEMICS of INFLUENZA. Pig
meat contains EXCESSIVE quantities of HISTAMINE and IMIDAZOLE
compounds, which can lead to ITCHING and INFLAMMATION; GROWTH HORMONE
which PROMOTES INFLAMMATION and growth; sulphur containing mesenchymal
mucus which leads to SWELLING and deposits of MUCUS in tendons and
cartilage, resulting in ATHRITIS, RHEUMATISM, etc. Sulphur helps cause
FIRM human tendons and ligaments to be replaced by the pig's soft
mesenchymal tissues, and degeneration of human cartilage.Eating pork
can also lead to GALLSTONES and OBESITY, probably due to its
HIGH CHOLESTEROL and SATURATED FAT content. The pig is the MAIN
CARRIER of the TAENIE SOLIUM WORM, which is found in its flesh. These
tapeworms are found in human intestines with greater frequency in
nations where pigs are eaten. This type of tapeworm can pass through
the intestines and affect
many other organs, and is incurable once it reaches beyond a certain
stage. One in six people in the U S and Canada has RICHINOSIS from
eating trichina worms, which are found in pork. Many people have NO
SYMPTOMS to warm them of this, and when they do, they resemble
symptoms of many other illnesses. These worms are NOT noticed during
meat inspections. Big Bad Wolf 30.10.2003 |

retired teachers UBD should reconsider
employing retired teachers from Malaysia. They are so old by the time
they have come to Brunei. They have given the best part of their life
to another country. They walk slow, think slow. How do the students
benefit? They are receiving their pensions from Malaysia and their
full salary from Brunei. We are really stupid in our recruitment. It’s
very unfair that teachers can retire in Brunei and come here and
sambong their kerja from 55 until 75 and yet the local teachers have
to retire at 55. The present Vice Chancellor and the past two support
Malaysians so much because they graduated with their first degrees

Brunei schools a luxury : Prof if you
think you are just a babysitter, you should leave. Brunei schools are
a luxury compared to the discipline problems in schools in America and
Australia. In America, there are metal detectors in the schools to
weed out the guns and knives! Here, it’s half day schooling, two days
off a week, very generous public holidays and very generous school
holidays. Calculations have been made that in total the teachers work
8 months of the year and receive a 13-month pay. Which other
profession has it like that?? Which other profession has it so good?

One family controls school The authorities
must do something immediately about the board membership of St.
Michael's School. One family effectively controls the school. Why? Why
can't we have a Malay Muslim, a true bumi instead as principal. The
husband is on the board. He should be in Singapore where he was
teaching before. He is a traitor to Brunei. He taught in Singapore and
was perfectly happy there. He forgot all about Brunei and his
contribution to Brunei until he was bribed with the Principalship to
come back. Why should we take these types of ungrateful sods as
principal or Deputy Principal or even as a simple school teacher. Why?
His contribution all these years to the school and as a teacher is
nothing great. His brother is the treasurer. The brother will come
frequently to Bandar to report all the school matters to the head of
the church - Msgr. Sim, as if the church still got a role in the
school. He has no accounts or financial background yet he is the
treasurer of the school board. To make matters worse, he works in the
law firm of a prominent catholic lawyer who always likes to interfere
in school matters even if he is not on any school board. What is going
on? It’s too cosy and incestuous. The government should quickly break
this family's strange hold and control of the school and school board.
Why should one family have so much control of one school? First,
remove the two brothers from the board especially in the treasurer
position and put someone who is qualified. This school finances have
in the past been in very poor shape. Money has been missing. The
priests and former principals and cxxxxxxx local catholic lawyer, who
was on the school board then, kaput the money and transferred the
money out. Now using this ignorant family who didn't know anything and
were in Singapore when all this happened to cover up for them the past
financial mismanagement. This family is being manipulated to cover up
past financial crimes. Some people and some families will do anything
for the churchmen and cover up the church's past misdeeds if they are
paid enough. They call themselves Catholics but are actually crooks.
If they are really honest Catholics, the church should come clean to
transparently tell how much money was missing or siphoned out over the
years. former student

Vteczone@Brudirect .com : Thanks for explaining what dyno
tuning is. At least, now I know. By the way, do you tune Mercedes
SL320? I have some troubleshoot with refitting the timing chain. I
even have check and aligned the camshaft sprocket and crankshaft
sprocket TDC mark once. Release tensioner tension and hand check by
turning the crank pulley about 1/4 turn. It seems stuck and I stop the
advance. I can imagine what happens if I start the car. I think all
the in let/out let valve will be messy or may be a broken cam shaft,
I refer to the manual. It says I have to turn camshaft sprocket lock
hub to lock position at certain degree then the refitting timing will
automatically lock to its original marking and secure. It says
tensioner acts only as apply tension to the chain. Wow, I really got
headache. If, perhaps, you can help me out the lock hub degree, how is
the procedure to process? Thank you very much. Hope you understand

in English? No.. right?...Man..calm down... Don’t be so head over
heal on in this problem. Look at you. Your emotion leads you to write
your opinion emotionally too. This will be informal fallacies! haha!
No offence...that’s what my teacher told me...BliNK. And look!! I
admit my English is not that good. I know I’m a second language
student too. I’m still struggling with my English work. But I never
insult other Bruneians about their English.
“Mixing them with slang and other inappropriate words make us feel
Bruneians are lousy with our English."
This is what you said last time right. Well... I don’t feel lousy. I
don’t feel stupid with slangs. I’ts fun. Well, I bet some people
think it’s fun to talk English with slangs. You know how it feels like
to be in English class for 6 hours in school and extra hours at home.
I’m sick of it. Can’t I just talk with slangs if I want to? Is it
wrong? And I LOVE mixing Malay and English when I talk.
"Talk sense so that our struggling youngsters or whoever wants to
learn English can learn by reading from HYS also"
I don’t talk sense huh? well.. so? If I just wanna put something in
HYS. That’s my problem, not yours right? By the way, let the
youngsters learn English from you then. Too bad that I’m really suck
in English. Oh well...need to learn basic English! Probably I'll
better learn it from my small sister. And some youngsters got better
ways to learn English. Hey...I’m one of the youngsters too. Too
bad..why ..I’m stuck with HYS because I like to see people write stuff
with their emotions.
"Even my grandpa, who is 80 years old and supposed to be Malay
Educated, can speak better English than you, and his great grand
children learn the primary class English from him when doing their
English homework"
Oh..kimslm your grandpa needs to learn English from him too then. No
joke no joke. Too bad, my grandpa is not here anymore. Maybe he will
be happy seeing me learning English from your grandpa so that I would
half better English. Yey!
"Brunei people criticize Philippine English pronunciation, for example
"Fact" as Fxxk" but their English is at least definitely USA English
and everybody knows that"
What has this got to do with my problem? If Brunei people criticize
them, let them be then. It’s their problem. It is hard to stop people
who like to criticize. And by the way, I looked at myself in front of
the mirror already and practised my English. I notice that my English
will not be as good as real English speaker. I will not criticize
anyone who got bad English. Keep that in mind. I know myself. You
don’t know me.. So try not to be so direct if you try to criticize
me...will you?
One more thing. " I don't know where you learnt that type of English!
I can't even understand what you are talking"
If you don’t understand, then don’t try to understand it. You’re
wasting your time saja bah. Let it be. Let it be. -ZinK-

George W. Bush and the Jews :
President Bush calls in the head of the CIA and asks, "How come
the Jews know everything before we do?
The CIA chief says, "It's simple. The Jews have an expression, Nu,
Vus Tutzuch (English translation: What's Happening). They just ask
each other and that's how they find out everything."
Impressed, George W. Bush says he personally wants to go
undercover to see how this system works.
So the president gets disguised (the hat, beard, long sideburns
etc.) as an Orthodox Jew, and is secretly flown in an unmarked
plane to New York where he is secretly picked up in an unmarked
car and secretly dropped off in Crown Heights, one of Brooklyn's
most Jewish neighborhoods.
As the president stands quietly on a busy street corner, a little
old Jewish man comes shuffling along. Bush approaches him and
whispers "Nu,Vus Tutzuch?"
The old guy whispers back, "Did you hear that putz Bush is in
Brooklyn?"

reply - Brunei in dire straits : This
person hit the nail right on its head! I fully agree with you!
That was a very thought-provoking and insightful article. Thanks
for speaking on behalf of all the unprivileged PRs living in
Brunei. You summed all our thoughts up PERFECTLY. Thanks once
again. I hope someone from the ministry will stumble upon this
website and read your article. Hopefully, the government will wake
up one day and take a look around at other countries and realise
how backward and retarded Brunei is. That is the sad truth.
The problem here is Brunei is governed by a bunch of ministers who
are old and outdated, not to mention over paid. These people get
paid like B$30-40K per month. Just imagine, some Bruneians
(especially the PRs) have to work their entire lifetime to earn
that kind of money. Anyway, let’s not get into that. The point
here is these ministers get paid so much, but they contribute
NOTHING whatsoever to Brunei's infrastructure and development. As
long as they're in power, they get paid, even if they're not doing
their jobs. This is bullshit. Name me a company or organisation in
this world that pays its employees for doing nothing. NONE. Only
the Brunei government does that.
It sickens and infuriates me to the bones to see how these people
live out their day to day lifestyles i.e. driving expensive luxury
cars, living in large mansions etc etc, all at the expense of
ordinary Bruneians. It is just downright outrageous how the cash
keeps flowing in to fuel their excessive lifestyle, yet they don't
deserve even a single dime of it.
The reckoning day has come. It is time for these ministers to put
up their hats and call it quits. We will not let the country be
ran by a bunch of hypocrites. We will not let these kind of people
jeopardize the country's development with their ignorance and
incompetence.
For the sake of our beloved country, please retire them
immediately. PRO-APPALLED

Worst English - Zink Xitto : Zink

RBA Golf Club : Has everyone seen the
safety net on RBA Golf Club? That's show P.. S... don’t know
anything about engineering spec. I was told by the terminated
employee P.. J... had told him about the mistake on the
engineering spec. But P... S... didn’t listen to his
subordinate’s advice who actually had the basic knowledge on the
safety net design. What to do?? Who is the boss????? Anyway, I
hope The Chairman will read the following statement:
1. Why is there no improvement on the golf club restaurant? It was
really a pity. Such a profitable club! But the Gx doesn’t know how
to run the restaurant properly. We can see that some golfers,
especially after golf go to the nearest Indian coffee shop to have
their meals. Why not in RBA Golf Club restaurant?
2. Why the current management is not popular than the previous
management? Where is his PR among the golfers? Do the golfers know
him? Does he have interaction with golfers? Does he know about
golf rules and regulation? Why is there no marshal on the golf
course now? I have difficulty playing when new golfers in front of
me are damn slow. I have complained but no action. What sort of
management is this? We still miss the previous management. They
were very strict but they had done a very good job.
3. The latest RBA open, a lot of complaint, there... we can
see the difference from the current management and the previous
management. I still vote for the previous management, especially
Pg. J... around. He had done a very good job but,
unfortunately, the boss P.. S... doesn’t like him due to his
experience and qualification which might overshadow him.
4. Why the GM did not grab the opportunity when the Pantai Mentiri
Golf Club closed? If I were him, I will offer Pantai Mentiri
members a very good discount rate on RBA Golf Club green fees.
5. The Golf Course Superintendent (Gary White) disappeared
(resigned) from RBA Golf Course, WHY????????? P... S... should
offer him earlier because RBA Golf Club has given a quota for the
Superintendent.
I hope the Chairman will read this and be considerate for the
local staff future. General Ramsfield 30.10.2003 |

for 4age. Well, for me a dyno tuning is a machine where you hop
your car on it and run the car. You will get result in the
computer on your Horsepower, torque, etc. You could actually find
your max power by doing the tuning on the dyno. Emmm maybe someone
has been on the dyno can explain better than me. But if you do go
on dyno, make sure that its HP is not PSI as what the others are
bragging about their numbers being so damn high. But it was in PSI
as what Rigoli found out. So for those bragging that crazy
horsepower, dyno them again and find your real HP. hehehe...ciao.

Yes. I agree with you Malik. I, for one, if given the chance will
make sure those guys end up in accident and die by trying to make
sure they will be caught by surprise when they overtake me on the
road. If I have my way, I will shot those illegal racers because
of their irresponsibility. My brother, who was on his way to buy
something, was hit by one of the bxxxxxd racer. Now his children
lost a father, a family provider, and a protector. (I am angry and
sad). To me, no forgiveness to them. They make my brother's
children suffer for their stupidity. Why should I just let them
go?? Eye for an eye. Tooth for a tooth. People would say that if I
kill those S.O.B I will be like them. My only comment to whoever
says that "I hope they will experience the way my brother's family
feels".
I have no objection to those racers who are racing legally with
the approval from the authority. To them I solute them for having

Escape students: been trying to send
messages in HYS but, HYS is either overworked, overloaded with people
sending in comments, that my comments never get published...
NVm lets try one more time on the issue of students escape... Ya, why
should teachers look after students who escape? You know what happen
in UK? Students who are found wondering outside during school hours,
and if caught the parents will have to pay fines... why not I say?
first like a comment made earlier, teachers are overworked and stress
as it is because of too many students to handle... the fact that
government schools are free to citizens, then if they dun attend, they
should either be throw out of the system, but that would result in a
lot of youth hanging around town making nuisance of themselves...
hence parents, who produce them should be made liable for their
children's actions... i.e. not attending class when they should...
parents should have the responsibility to take care of their child and
in most cases know how to control them... why should teachers or
headmasters, principal or prefects chase after them (I remember last
time, my principal fell down a big drain just to catch the students
who smoke, run away from school, etc)... young parents these days
know how to produce only but never took the matters of the children’s
interest in their heart... Pro teacher 30.10.2003 |

To Prof: u said teachers are babysitting
the students? Well. As a student too... well. From my opinion... MAYBE
the teachers care about us? Well. Its like u care about your friend...
u wont dare to let your friend to go to the hell way...rite... on the
other hand...teachers are grown ups. They think differently from us...
so probably what we do is wrong for them? That’s why they need to
baby-sit us? Just think about it man...most of teachers in Brunei are
train or born Muslim... Islam teaches us how to care one another...
rite? Maybe that’s one of the reasons? Am I on the right track? Or
maybe teachers just wanna be friend with us? That’s why they baby-sit
us? lain lah if they baby-sit us too much...-ZinK- Xitto

To whom it may concern :
When I first met you babe,
It was love at first sight,
And my love did grow for you,
Until it felt oh so right.
You would greet me with a smile,
One that I won't ever forget,
And our time spent together,
I will sincerely never forget.
There's something about your eyes,
That my eyes have ever seen,
You indeed were the man who,
Stepped right out of my dreams.
But I’m sorry our relationship,
Didn't succeed and go to plan.
I really have to let you know,
You were a sweet wonderful man.
There is something I have to say,
And please believe it is true.
A special place within my heart,
Will always love and care for you.

Brunei in Dire Straits - why? :
Skilled resources are being sidelined just because they don't have
a yellow card. I equate this to racial discrimination in the
workforce - segregation based on COLOUR.
People, who are born and bred in Brunei (BBB) but do not have the
"advantage" of having a yellow card, are the underdogs when it
comes to government benefits, especially surrounding scholarships
and remuneration.
I'm assuming that when it comes to human resource planning, the
general plan for any government is to keep the brains IN THE
COUNTRY. This won't work if less capable people are given
precedence in scholarships and other benefits. But BBB without
yellow cards are driven overseas in search for this recognition.
Classic case of the rich becoming richer, and the poor becoming
poorer. And we wonder why Brunei's growth and employment rate is
collapsing.
"WHY don't you apply for a yellow card and stop whining?", I hear
you say. As a 2nd generation BBB with a red card, I have seen my
parents (who are BBB's as well) make numerous attempts to apply
for Brunei citizenship, but the results have always been the same:
no go. There's talk that the application process is currently
being made easier and fairer. REALLY? We've seen and waited enough
to know not to get our hopes up too high.
I now reside in a country that has awarded me a citizenship
because it recognizes the skills that I can bring to its economy.
So what if I need to pay taxes? I'm finally being recognised as a
skilled and competent individual. I finally belong somewhere I can
call home. It’s nearly comical how I have to achieve this in a
foreign country.
I'm sure this topic has been discussed to death, and I apologize
for resurfacing it; this is the only way to put in my two cents'
worth.
For the BBB's with no yellow cards, I wish you the best of luck.
Maybe, you will persevere in your pursuit of recognition. If you
do achieve this in Brunei, I will be ecstatic. There may be a
glimmer of hope that the Brunei government is waking up after all.

PAY RISE FOR CIVIL SERVANTS: Does pay
rise really solve the problem for Bruneians from going bankrupt as
a result of loan from banks and credit cards? Really? I don’t
think so. Just do your calculations correctly then you won’t
overspend. There are more jobless locals out there who need work
and money. The budget for the pay rise might as well be good for
these locals. The salary received by public servants nowadays are
considered higher compared with the work load given. Regarding the
cost of living, it is still low compared with the neighboring
countries. It is just a matter of simple calculations and a
thought of living a simple life and not luxuriously. Blue

Bruneian Rights : I would like to comment
on my friends’ situation. They are employed by the so-called 'semi

This centre has almost 80 per cent expats staff. They are claiming
that they are not treated equally. The job is not secure even for
locals. Local staffs are terminated easily without further
consultation or warning. Some of the staff are not educationally
qualified in order to pay them with a low salary.

share : I just would like to share
about teachers & students today.Even though not all are bad but
one or two have spoilt the reputation (don't want to mention
names). I respect teachers because without them I will not have
good results. But what disappoints me is that one or two teachers
(rough min. estimation) do take advantage of their students (who
become "TEACHER'S PET") and the students (who have problem
background) enjoy to be their "PET" as long as they get what they
want when they ask for something. They will be called whenever
needed. It is really sad to see this happening in the system.
So parents, watch out for your children and to this type of
teacher please keep job/responsibility as what you are i.e
teaching and not taking advantage. To my friends out there,
please be careful and take good care of yourselves. Jangan

there are other things to worry. Sien la, if you have to worry so

WHEN IS THE PAY RISE FOR CIVIL SERVANTS :
It is so long already that government servants have had their last pay
revision. The last pay revision was before independence. It is high
time for HIS MAJESTY THE SULTAN to grant a pay revision for the
government servants. The cost of living in country has increased so
much. That is why a lot of Bruneians go bankrupt by getting loan from
banks and credit cards companies. I hopefully wish that HIS MAJESTY
THE SULTAN OF BRUNEI WILL LOOK INTO THIS MATTER. PAY RISE

student escape : Why get teachers to baby
sit students? It should be the parents who should take care of their
children who are left to wander around town. Teachers are already

Student Politic : Why is Brunei Education
using Singapore Education. For example here is N level. This N level
makes the students of Brunei boring because of 3 yrs study at the
school ( 2 years N level if Passed 1 year O Level )
I know that in every school in Brunei, there’s a Counselor Unit For
Student ( P.R.S ) but this unit is useless because the teacher, who
becomes the counselor, is also stressed about this problem.
Many Bruneian citizens and retired teachers know that this N level
make the student do more social activities.l I heard from one of the
retired teachers saying " Since the 1st time N Level was introduced in
Brunei, the students are getting worse than before. We from 4
districts in Brunei are already making a letter that we don’t want
this N Level to be continued but the Ministry of Education in Brunei
just ignores this letter."
Can you imagine how selfish this Education Ministry of Brunei??
That’s why Brunei people are jobless. Many of the students, who are
jobless, are going to social activities such as drugs, early marriage,
prostitution and many more. Stress students MTrading@brudirect.com

Venus - Regarding Little Daisy : Hi, Venus
Thank you. I will convey your messages. But to confirm she is really a
happy woman. Her belief is let my children grow with a father, and be
happy. She does not consider the other woman a threat to her marriage.
One thing she will never do is to put pressure on her hubby. Other
women, who are involved with her man, usually ask for this ask for
that until sometimes she sees her hubby without his knowledge sitting
by himself "termenong" alone. She said it is just something she
accepts as part of life. But, must think positive and take one thing
at a time. Anyway, VENUS you are an angle with a golden heart. Thanks
for being tolerant to what I have said. It is good to have people who
care for others. Teddy Bear 28.10.2003 |

St. Angela's School- English School : Very
shameful. When you beg for money from parents you are writing
letters both in Malay and in English. But, during your KG graduation
why use English? Don't you have any Malay teachers to be your emcee on

how to speak good English. How do you expect Malay from them.
Malay is the medium for up to primary 3. Is your school under MOE or

Critizising: I think we Bruneians are just
so smart. We criticize everyone else but ourselves. Agree? Tell me,
whom have we not criticized or insulted?? It’s so easy to point the
finger at someone else when in, actual fact, we could be the cause of
it all. But somehow, we get away so easily just by blaming others. We
are even better at labelling - labelling Filipinos as whores, Chinese
as pigs & Indians as Kaling. Try calling a black guy in UK a nigger,
see if you can get away with that. Let's learn, at least, during this
holy month of Ramadhan to be humble and just a little bit more careful
with what we say or do. The world is bigger than Kampung Ayer or
Jerudong Park, so let’s not get too comfortable with our lives here.

Teddy Bear: Hi teddy bear. It's good to
hear your side of the story and I am happy to hear that her husband is
turning out for the better. I am sorry for your loss as well but
remember, whatever happens to your life, insyallah ada hikmahnya. Try
to think it like that. I have friends yang give up after divorces and
deviate berabis, inda peduli anak and I see their life so kesian but I
also see some others who turn to Allah for aide and alhamdulillah
their life gets better.
Actually, what I'm trying to say though is it's true that sometimes
venting out your frustrations is good tapi perhaps the way little
daisy exposed her 'cerita bilik', is not very subtle. I guess sudah
from the beginning she is hard-hearted because her husband acts that
way, and she is a very patient woman. And that's why I say that her
life barabgkali is not truly happy. That's why I (hoping I can help a
little), as I am also a woman, say that if you feel gelisah or
frustrated bawa sembahyang tahajud and hajat. Believe me, hilang your
problems. The thing was I was surprised that her daughter kah, yang
posted to Brudirect that her mom is not here. Of course, my first
concern arah the anak. Hey, we're moms, first priority should be
always the children. That's why I thought that the children should not
read what she had written about the hanching, or ketiak... kesian the
anak.
I am truly sorry if I offended you, tapi banartah I didn't mean it
that way, but I do hope that you as the best friend would convey some
of my messages. If truly the husband cannot be taught lagi, with
sembahyang and doa, nothing is impossible. I wish the best for you
both... Cheerio... Venus

Poor Get Rich Quickly ? Big fish ??: Like
Jeffery, I am also surprised where some poor people can get rich
quickly. There are people out there taking advantage of their job to
get what they want. In Kuala Belait coffee shop, we can hear some
saying "aiya ini hali banyak lugi jam 7:30 pagi balu mau jalan tulun
kelja bawa truk sudah kena tunggu satu keleta punya inspector mau
saman. Tapi tak jadi dia minat pegi dia punya rumah bikin dia punya
pagar. Yang lain bilang dia minta bikin ini dan itu, macam-macam lagi".
It's time for ACB to take action on this matter before it spoils the
good reputation of the Land Transport Department. In other parts of
the world, the private sector, the people in the senior position, who
have access to tenders, are selling "confidential document" to
contractor to secure a project via someone, normally a person who has
no job but spend money and has cars like a rich man, so that they
cannot be tracked down. This may explain why the people are rich
quickly. Very hard to prove lah but "pandai2 tupai melompat satu hari
jatuh jjuga ketanah". Ingat jangan tak ingat. Poor Man

Raya for UBDers! : I am one of the UBD
students who is going to have the exam this November. Most probably
starting on the 2nd day of Raya. I am quite surprised and disappointed
with the decision. But I do believe they have their reasons for that.
Like them, I also have reasons to disagree and believe the decision
taken has been unwise.
1) Brunei is a Muslim country. As officially stated by our MIB
concept, Brunei is a Muslim country and Hari Raya Aidilfitri is a
Muslim celebration. Since majority of the population of the country
are Muslims and the university is ran by Muslims, we have the rights
to celebrate it.
2) We celebrate the Raya only once a year. We only meet Hari Raya
Aidilfitri once in a year. Although time moves fast nowadays, a year
is still a long wait. Moreover, you can't guarantee yourself to meet
the next Raya alive.
3) It could distract the students. With the excitement generated by
the coming celebration, it could prove an additional distraction and
stress factor towards the coming exam, as we might involve ourselves
in helping our families preparing the households and others. To get
the most effective out of us, and probably the best result as well, we
need to be fully focused and prepared mentally.
4) They could have been tolerant and flexible instead of rigid. Those
who are responsible for the decision should be aware that as much as
they want to meet their schedule, they should have considered the
situation at the best possible way. A good example is for those
working for the government who will probably get their salary for
this November earlier. Why? Because of Raya!
There is a saying that we are fully responsible to produce the best
out of us. I partially agree with that. But I believe that we need you
and ourselves to produce it. Finally, I hope my fellow UBDers would
listen and give a kind of support as your voices are important to
shape our mind, thought and future and to celebrate the coming Raya!

Localisation at F&N Coco Cola : To Local
Supplier. Your point of argument is valid. To put it more blatantly.
Hey " Mr Labour Commissioner, sir. BRUNEI LNG has got a Bruneian Malay
Citizen Manager. He is doing far better than the previous expatriate"
B.S.P has got a Local Bruneian as number 2 man in that highly
technical business. How come that making drinks, putting ingredients
and putting this liquid into cans and bottle can not be managed by
Bruneians? How come that not even one of the many MBA Bruneians, who
are now jobless, cannot manage the business of selling and marketing
drinks. If the company doesn’t like Brunei Malay Citizens, (I know
this hurts many people) we do have a lot of Non-Malays Citizens who
are waiting for the opportunity to work for you.. Aaappppeeee dah! How
big is the company kan compared to B.S.P and B.L.N.G. How serious is
the technical "knowhow" required?? Do you have labs to test the
end-result? What qualification, where to get that qualification, how
long to get this qualification so that Bruneians can do the job? Or
maybe you guys are hiding the true ingredients being used. Jangan
jangan anu inda halal kali ah? It is a reality that if one man spits
on the street, it looks dirty. If 7000 people spit every day on the
street, it becomes a disaster. Same thing if we have a jobless man in
our street, he becomes the most pitiful man in Brunei. What more if
7000 are jobless, we are slowly going to face for a big unstable,
unsafe and unhappy society. Through this HYS the rakyat can tell which
job can be done by locals! No need to do special study and waste
money. Let the rakyat contribute. Please let the rakyat be the eyes,
the ears and the tool for Government. At least become PART OF THE
SOLUTION NOT THE PROBLEM. Big Bad Wolf 27.10.2003 |

Rationalization: Nothing is bad when it's
rationalized, not even alcohol, not even drugs. Why not have OGH
selling alcohol, at least these people are having fun and does not
spend their time writing into brudirect or brutalk slandering
others... OGH is well controlled and has never had things go out of
control. Unlike Jerudong Park, where you get young kids as young as
twelve selling and consuming illegal drugs. Come on... the government
has got to admit that the drug problem is a lot more critical then
some people having a bit of a laugh. Get your priorities right.
Build homes for the aged, schools for the handicapped children before
another new gold cladded mosque 50m from the other. Get those people
selling our kids drugs, before we go raiding illegal immigrants and
arresting chicken smugglers across the border, get the big guys who
deals in corruption before you arrest those who tries and earn a
living with a $100 bribe here and there. Know where the danger really
is... bird's-eye

Publish studies: All the studies from the
various consultants on Brunei's diversification should be published.
And available for sale. The public should be able to buy the study,
read and comment directly to the BEDB. The process should be more
transparent and more participative. The rakyat is very well educated.
It concerns their future. They should be given opportunities to
participate and comment. It concerns their future. Diversification is

CircuitDream Quest Proposition : What I
suggest is to create a Motorsport Association of Brunei to help us in
the quest to build a racetrack for every kind of racer (mainly: drift,
drag, circuit). I am sure a lot of people would want to join and a
membership fee of $20 or more would be sufficient starting point in
establishing the organisation and would then spur up more
opportunities in investment by other firms to our dream of a circuit.
First, we would hold small events such as the '99 Saloon sprint race
which still is so memorable to a car enthusiast like me especially if
you are a Bruneian. Make a name for ourselves and establish ourselves
as a proper legitimate organisation. Membership and support of the
organisation will hopefully grow substantially due to Brunei's love
for cars and motorsport. The members can also serve as investors to
inject funds into the association to speed the build-up. I am sure it
can be done. It is not a difficult proposition. We just need a stand
up passionate leader that can lead the organisation. I'll leave you
all to try as best as you can. Once I finish my studies, if there is
not a Motor Association in place, I will strive to initiate it as best
as I can. Till then, Good Luck. DKB 27.10.2003 |

Concorde : It is sad to see live the last
flight of Concorde. I remembered in the old days as student in England
when I had the opportunity to visit and feel the Concorde,
unfortunately did not fly in it. The sound of Concorde was very
unpleasant and had the experience to witness damages did by the sonic
boom of the aircraft when they had test flight somewhere west of
England before they started commercial flights across the Pacific. To
end the argument whether Concorde had ever landed in Brunei, the fact
is it has NEVER landed at Brunei airport. It was correct that it flew
to Singapore on Singapore Airlines and British Airways colour and logo
on either side of the aircraft. But the flight did not last long as it
was very costly to operate. On its flight to Middle East, it was Doha.
For technical stop it had to fly at sub-sonic speed once it crossed
over the land mass such as India. It was forced to fly at sub-sonic
speed over certain European countries. There were public outcry over
its noise. The services were aborted as it was too costly and it did
not serve the purpose it should have given. Concorde is not a big
airplane, the body is a little narrower than the Boeing 737-200 that
was flown by RBA, but it is a little longer. The baggage compartment
is also very small. Baggage has to be pushed into its baggage
compartment rather than carried into. Concorde can reach maximum
flight level up to 52,000 feet. Concorde at one time flew to Sydney
from Singapore. It could be at this time when it flew over Brunei, but
never landed. That is the fact. The only time I saw Concorde in Brunei
is a model aircraft seen at some toys shops. Airlines expert

Oil Pollution At Sungai Bira. : It is
interesting that our fellow reader had contributed about the pollution
at Lumut caused by the Flares at BLNG. I would like to raise the same
topic concerning the discharge from the oil refinery at Seria which
has been discharging oil and other metallic waste into the Sungai Bira
for the last 30 years. Although I can see some efforts are being made
to filter the waste discharged but a vast quantity of it is still
leaking out to sea. For those concerned in the preservation of our
eco-system just take a drive along the beach towards the estuary of
Sungai Bira and you could see the effect by yourself. Once you are
there, just get a stick and try to poke it into the mud along the bank
of the river and you will be surprised to see the dark oily substance
from under the surface. Also you can clearly see the dark oily streak
flowing out to sea for many miles. Just think of its effect to the
marine life within that river and also in the sea offshore from Seria
and Kuala Belait. I would suggest the Marine and Environmental Dept
of UBD in conjunction with the Fisheries Dept as well as the BSP and
BLNG should carry out joint studies in these areas and find out its
effect to the environment as well as the population within that area. Hurundi

Be equal : I would like to share a story
from a friend about their employer. It's actually a semi-privately ran
medical centre which recently has no proper management and
administration. At present, it is chaired by one of the royal family
members. As per their complaints the staffs are not treated
fair/equally. They get terminated easily without proper consultation
or warning. The jobs are not secure for them even for locals. Bonus is
not paid on time. Some of the staff are placed to do difficult tasks
(for which they are not educationally qualified) so they can pay them
low salaries.
Anyhow, it's been going on for years and things are not getting any
better. I used to adore this peaceful country as its theme is 'Melayu
Islam Beraja' but then things are not as it should be. Awg
