Tragedy struck a group of foreign workers, mostly Filipinos, yesterday afternoon at the Berakas Forest Reserve in which two lost their lives at sea and one went missing while another lies in critical condition at RIPAS Hospital.

Following weeks of suspense, there was a sigh of relief among workers of PSA Muara Container Terminal after the Ministry of Communications and Ports Department gave an assurance yesterday that they will be employed back given their vast experience in port-handling over the past years.

2,132 HFMD Cases Recorded In 2006

A total of 2,132 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) were recorded in the country in 2006, but the number has seen a decrease in recent months, the Ministry of Health stated in its press release yesterday.
