Bandar Seri Begawan - Global Finance, a prestigious magazine based in New York, has announced the award winners of the World's Best Internet Banks competition in Asia. For the forth time in a row, HSBC Brunei has been named the Best Consumer Internet Bank and also the Best Corporate and Institutional Internet Bank in Brunei for the first time, stated a press release.

Winners were chosen from entries evaluated by a world-class judging panel, based on the strength of strategy for attracting and servicing online customers, success in getting clients to use web offerings, growth of online customers, breadth of product offerings, as well as evidence of tangible benefits gained from Internet initiatives, web site design and functionality.

HSBC recently revamped their Internet banking for a better online banking experience for customers. With Internet banking, HSBC customers will no longer need to pay the bank a visit; all transactions can be done online at the convenience of their home anytime of the day.

The revamp of the site improves customer

navigation to ensure a better online experience. It also introduces two new features; one of which is that customers can now do online hire purchase payments with their HSBC credit cards.

This means customers do not need to queue to make their hire purchase payments and can also earn Reward points every time a transaction is made.

Another new feature is the online password reset function. This allows customers to change their password if they forget their existing one without the need to fill any forms.

This also means customers no longer need to go to the branch to reset their passwords. Such addition will benefit those always on the move, whether in Brunei or abroad.

Whereas for the Business Internet banking, companies are now able to set maximum daily transaction limits at company level, which act as a ceiling to the amount various users could transfer from Internet banking.
