Create Education Conducive
Environment Schools Urged

Begawan - The Minister of Education continued a series of
working visits to two primary schools to have a better understanding
of the issues and challenges facing the schools, and to take a
closer look at the schools' efforts in improving its learning and
teaching quality.
Pehin
Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Hj Abd Rahman held discussions
with the school principals and other authorities on preparing a more
conducive learning and teaching environment for the schools.
During his visit to Delima Satu
Primary School, the minister was briefed on the school's progress
and future plans and on number of students in one classroom, noting
that every classroom can only accommodate a certain amount of
students because it will affect the learning and teaching processes
of teachers and students.
The minister also took the
opportunity to interact with the students while visiting classrooms,
computer laboratories, Science and Mathematics Room, as well as the
Resource Room.

Rabea Hj Md Yusof was also present to brief the minister on the
school's activities and its future plans.
Some of the school's implemented
programmes in improving students' reading skills from Primary One to
Primary Six were the 'School Motivated in Learning English' programme
and 'Membaca Eratkan Suasana Riang Awda,' a programme to
promote reading in Malay.
Pehin Dato Hj Abd Rahman and his
delegation then proceeded to Pulaie Primary School, to observe the
facilities that are available and the methods that are being used in
classrooms.
During his discussions with school
principal Hjh Siti Rohaya Hj Besar, the Minister touched on the
students' welfare, especially those that have difficulties, the
school's infrastructure and its academic programme.
He also raised questions on the
preparations and planning of teachers to teach Primary One to Three
Mathematics and ICT subjects in English.
The minister called on more
developments on the school's 'Building Improvement of Schools and
infrastructure' project and its achievements in the primary School
public exams.
The delegations consist of the
permanent secretary, deputy permanent secretaries, and directors
