Prayers For Loved Ones During
Ramadhan
By Rosli Abidin Yahya
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Many Muslims made full use of Friday - a holiday for
all government departments and schools-by taking their families to the
cemetery to offer prayers to relatives who had passed away.
Families would often do this during
the holy month of Ramadhan or on the first day of Aidil Fitri, Among
the prayers that would be recited are "Surah Yaasin", "Tahlil" and "Doa
Arwah". These prayers would normally be ledby a family member with a
religious background.
Before leaving the cemetery, each
family member will take turns pouring scented water "Aing Asah-Asahan"
over the tombstones. -- Courtesy of Borneo
