Ministries Hold 'Tedarus'
Ceremonies Nationwide

Begawan - A tedarus ceremony by the Ministry of Home Affairs
was held yesterday at Masjid Puni in Mukim Bangar Temburong, a press
release from the Temburong District Office said.
Present at the ceremony were the
Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Adanan, his
Deputy, Pehin Dato PadukaAwg Hj Dani, other - senior officials, heads
of department, senior officers and staff of several departments under
the Ministry.
The ceremony began with the mass
Quran recital or 'tedarus', which was followed by the tahlil' and a 'Doa
Peliharakan Sultan', and ended with the breaking of the fast. The
ceremony also saw the presentation of the 'wakaf' from the Minister of
Home Affairs and the presentation of donations made to the victims of
recent fires in Kampong-Bata Apoi, Kg Selapon Mukim Batu Apoi, Kg
Selangan Mukim Amo and Kg Sungai Tanit Mukim Bangar Temburong.
The Home Affairs delegation then
proceeded to perform Maghrib prayers, which was followed by
refreshments. Later, the officials and staff performed the lsyak and
also the 'terawih' prayers.
Meanwhile, some 100 senior officers
and staff of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the departments
under it held a 'tedarus' ceremony to help glorify the holy month of
Ramadhan, yesterday, at the Panchor Murai Mosque in the Brunei-Muara
district.
The delegation was led by Pehin Dato
Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Hj Awg Badaruddin, Deputy Minister of
Religious Affairs. Also present were Dato Paduka Hj Abdul Rahman,
Permanent Secretary at the Ministry, and Dato Paduka Hj lshaaq, the
Deputy Permanent Secretary.
The delegation later joined
worshippers and village residents in the breaking of fast as well as
the Maghrib prayer.
Kampong Panchor Murai was the
delegation's first stop. The Religious Affairs delegates will proceed
to Kg Merangking Mosque in the Belait District for a similar 'tedarus'
ceremony on October 3, 2006, where several donations will also be
made.
The events are organised by the
Mosque Affairs Department as well as Administration Department,
Building Maintenance Division of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
