SKSWood Celebrates Significant
Milestone
Bandar Seri
Begawan - A ceremony was held at Brunei Shell Recreation Club
(B SRC) recently to mark a milestone in which no SKS Wood personnel
had suffered any injury since December 2004.
Present as guest of honour at the `SKS
Wood 4 Million Manhours TRC Free' ceremony was BSP Operations Services
Manager Mike Fuge.
SKS
Wood Managing Director Sandy Cambell said in a press statement,
"Reaching four million manhours with out any injury to any of our
people either onshore or offshore is a tremendous achievement for
everyone connected with SKS Wood.
"Four million manhours TRC free means
nobody working for SKSWood has suffered any injury since December
2004.
"It also represents 620 days since we
last had an injury, 400,000 man days of work, over 6,000 offshore
journeys, 2,200 tonnes of steel fabricated and installed, 3,000
individual jobs completed, 30 individual offshore maintenance
campaigns, and over 5,000 toolbox talks and safety meetings," she
said.
The press statement added, "Our
success is the result of a large number of initiatives - investment in
training, management leadership, team building workshops, poster
campaigns, safe driving promotions, office safety awareness and many
others.
`But above all, it was achieved as a
result of the collective determination of all of us working in SKSWood
to avoid injuring anyone working with us or alongside us.
"As we celebrate achieving this
significant milestone we must also look to the future and how we will
strive for even better performance in HS&E.
"We must guard against complacency,
we must maintain our concentration and above all we must continue to
apply the practices and skills which have allowed us to reach this
level of HS&E performance," she added.
"Today we are extending our
initiatives to include the families of SKSWood staff. We believe that
by helping the children of our employees to better understand the
risks to their health and safety, they will develop safe habits and
enjoy healthy, uninjured and happy childhoods." -- Courtesy of Borneo
