ISB Students Gain Rock Lessons At
Empire Hotel
Bandar Seri
Begawan - A total of 78 students from the International School
of Brunei (ISB) recently enjoyed an educational visit to the Empire
Hotel & Country Club.
The main purpose of the visit was for
the Year III students to learn more about rocks as part of their
science project.
The visiting group was welcomed by
Human Resources Officer Maszalina Masri and Human Resources
Coordinator Azhar Rizam upon arrival at the hotel's Marine Centre. The
group was led by their Year III teachers.
Empire Hotel & Country Club Landscape
Manager Gregory Hodges was delighted to present a talk on rocks and
minerals. The children were fascinated with the various samples
presented.
Following the talk, they were taken
for a tour around the hotel and were shown the types of marble,
sandstone and granite available around the property. The tour ended
with a fun game about rocks.
The trip provided the students with
an in-depth understanding about rocks.
"We are delighted to be part of this
educational project. It was indeed a pleasure to share my knowledge on
rocks and minerals with the students and on my part, it was rewarding
to see how interested they are in this topic, said Gregory Hodges.
