Prize War To Lure Public

Begawan - A prize war to attract people breaking the fast with
buffet promotions has started and food outlets have come up with
irresistible offers like airline tickets and Umrah packaged to lure
customers.

From local to continental, to even
Japanese and Italian cuisines, restaurants are offering a wide
array of mouthwatering dishes.
And most of them offer prayer
rooms for those wishing to perform the obligatory and highly
recommended 'Terawikh' and 'Witir' prayers.
An Orchid Garden Hotel food and
beverage manager said they are doing very well with an average of
150 customers dining daily and they expect the figure to reach 250
as days go by. Yesterday, bookings for 200 patrons were made.
He said they offer 20 types of
appetisers, 12 main courses as well as stalls for 'Roti', 'Murtabak'
and the local 'Ambuyat' as well. The restaurant can accommodate up
to 300 patrons. |

The hotel also offers vouchers for
complimentary dim sum buffet and a chance to win two Umrah
packages for every individual receipt above $70 spent on either
sungkai or sahur buffet.
A restaurant supervisor of The
Rizqun International Hotel said since the beginning - of the
fasting month, the response has been good with an average of over
40 customers for the Sungkai buffet daily. |
The restaurant, which is open from
6pm till 10.3Opm for Sungkai, is also expecting to attract more
patrons as the days go by based on word of mouth from patrons who have
dined at the restaurant, he said.
Meanwhile, RBC offers Ramadhan and
sahur buffet dim sum at four of their restaurants. There is a special
offer for Standard Chartered credit card members and patrons also
stand a chance to win the grand draw, a return ticket to Jeddah for
one.
Those who dine in at The Empire Hotel
and Country Club for Ramadhan buffet stand a chance to win an Umrah
package for two and fantastic gifts from a renowned bookstore.
For late night golfers, a Malay
buffet at the bunker is also available. Restaurants like Tenaga in
Gadong, which specialises in North Indian and Tandoori dishes and
offers at $6.90 for an adult, also said that business is peaking up
since they started last Monday.
Fratini's Restaurant offers up to 50
per cent discount on burgers from 12 noon to 7pm, pasta and pizza from
the first to last day of Ramadhan for those who dine-in. --
