Tedarus Crowd Gather Early

Bandar Seri Begawan - During the fasting month, the Istana Nurul Iman is open to the public for the tedarus ceremony that goes on until the completion of the reading of the Quran.

Those who attend the tedarus come as early as 5.30pm in order to park as close to the palace entrance for convenience. The Tutong Road is closed at certain times of the day.

Late comers have to park as far as a mile away. To some, it has become a yearly tradition to have a picnic sungkai at the palace car park area, where police traffic personnel are on duty to keep law and order. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
