Ramadhan Events For Indonesians

Bandar Seri Begawan - Indonesian Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Mr Herijanto Soeprapto last Sunday launched a Ramadhan programme for Indonesians residing in the country, according to a press release.

The programme comprises religious activities such as Solat Terawih on Saturday evenings, starting September 24, at the Indonesian Embassy. Last Sunday saw the first session of the programme, which was attended by some 150 Indonesians.

To celebrate the Nuzul Quran on October 6, the embassy will organise several activities for children such as a Quran reading contest, anAdzan competition and a colouring contest.

For adults, there will be a seminar following Solat Terawih at the embassy on October 14. The embassy will also send a collection of alms - Zakat, Infaq and Sadaqoh - to the unfortunate in Indonesia before Aidilfitri.

Meanwhile, the embassy will be open between 9am and 3 am from Monday to Thursday during the Ramadhan. On Fridays, the office hours are from 9 am to noon, and 2-3.30 pm. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
