Education Minister Visits Schools

Bandar Seri Begawan - Minister of Education Pehin Dato Hj Awang;Abdul 'Rahman bin Dato Hj Mohamed Taib and other officers visited two schools in the country yesterday namely Kiarong Primary School and Kampong Mata-Mata Primary School.

At the first stop, the minister was briefed by the principal of Kiarong Primary School, Hjh Sainah binti Hj Nayan. Among other things that the principal brought up were facilities available at the school and the current state of school buildings. She also talked about providing better facilities for future intakes.

Meanwhile, the minister launched the school's web site at the computer lab.

At Kampong Mata-Mata Primary School, the minister was briefed by the school's principal, Moksin bin Hj Mohammad, on the administration of the school as well as the students' progress.

At the school, the minister mingled with the students and took a closer look at facilities of the school such as classrooms, science lab, computer lab, library and hall.

The minister also planted a sapling at the school compound to mark the visit.

Among those who accompanied the minister were Deputy Minister of Education Pg Dato Dr Hj Mohammad bin Pg Hj Abdul Rahman, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Deputy Permanent Secretaries, directors and other senior officers. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
