RTB Official Returns From Japan
Leadership Programme

Begawan - The Acting Deputy Director of RTB, Hj Osman bin Hj
Mohammad, returned home from Japan after attending the 35th Leadership
Programme on Japan' which was held from September 11 to 16.
Shortly after arriving in Brunei, Hj
Osman said that he had learned so many things about the current
situation in Japan in terms of the economy, industry and politics.
He also mentioned that he was able to
see the latest in research and development as well as technology - an
experience which he regarded as "precious and inspirational".
The leadership programme was
organised by the Institute for International Studies and Training
(LIST) with the support of the Japanese Government and Japan's
Ministry of Economy, Trade & Industry (METI).
The programme included a variety of
activities including opinion exchanges with senior METI officials and
with Japanese business leaders such as Airbus Japan KK, NHK (Japan
Broadcasting Corporation) and Toyota Motor Corporation.
The programme aimed to deepen
understanding of the current state of Japan's industrial economy and
the process of economic recovery. Hj Osman also visited Kyoto to learn
more about Japanese culture.
Some 16 participants joined the
programme including several politicians, a governor, a high level
official, academics, journalists and business executives from various
