AH United Take On Kasuka FC
By Alex How
Bandar Seri
Begawan - League Cup favourites AH United will take on
archrivals Kasuka FC in the last quarterfinal match of the 2006 League
Cup tonight at Belapan field at 8pm.
With all the players available to
play in the quarterfinals, AH United head coach Hj Rosanan Samak has
cautioned the team not to take any of the opponents lightly.
"AH United are ready for the
quarterfinals," said Hj Rosanan.
"We will respect the opponents and
will not take them lightly," said the former Brunei international.
AH United have an impressive league
record over Kasuka FC winning twice when they met in the 2005/ 2006
league matches.
AH United advanced to the
quarterfinal after they narrowly beat Kilanas FC 4-3 and AM Gunners
3-2.
Kasuka
FC enjoyed a good start in the League Cup after they beat Peninjau FC
4-1 and Sengkurong 4-1 coming into the quarterfinals.
Zul
Majdi Hj Mohd Noor, Chairman of Kasuka FC, hoped that his young team
will put up some good fight in tonight's clash against AH United. But
the chairman is also worried about the inexperience in his team who is
in the stage of developing a new-looked Kasuka.
"We have some young players in the
squad, and we brought in some new players for the League Cup," added
Zul Majdi.
"This is the chance to give the young
players to expose themselves as they will be the future for the team
in the next two or three years."
"We hoped the team will perform well
and play according to the plan," he added.
The winner will book the semifinal
berth to meet ABDB who beat March United 5-0 on Sunday night.
Already qualified to the semifinal is
another favourites QAF FC after they beat Majra FC 4-1. QAF FC will
meet Wijaya FC who blanked Kota Ranger 3-0 in the other semifinal.
