Youth Sports Fest Certs Presentation

Bandar Seri Begawan - A get-together ceremony for the Brunei-Muara district contingent and a certificates presentation to sponsors and team managers for the 3rd Youth Sports Festival were held Saturday night at the Brunei-Muara District office.

The chief guest, Dato Paduka Awg Haji Mohd Yussop, Brunei-Muara District Officer, and adviser to the Brunei-Muara district contingent, praised and congratulated the sports contingent for its success during the meet.

He believed that to achieve success in the competition was not an easy task as the contingent had to face excellent contingents from other districts. Even though the contingent faced financial constraints, it won the overall champion title for the third time.

Date Paduka Awg Haji Mohd Yussop said he is happy with the attitude, and high commitment shown by the officials, team managers, coaches and the athletes.

He also congratulated Dayang Rahmah binti Ramli who was awarded as the Sportswoman of Youth Sport Festival 2006.

He hoped her success could motivate her and other athletes to continue being active in sports and produce good athletes for Brunei at the international arena in the future.

He said the meet gave an opportunity for the participants to showcase their talents and skills to represent the country in the international level.

He also hoped the Brunei-Muara team members would upgrade themselves and continue to win the championship title in the future. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
