Prizes For Winners Of Anti-Drugs
Competition

Begawan - The prize presentation ceremony for the Anti-Drugs
Competition between schools and colleges throughout the nation was
held yesterday at Dewan Raya, Radio Television Brunei.
The competition was organised by the
Counselling and Career Guidance Section under the Department of
Schools, Ministry of Education.
Present as the guest of honour was
Pehin Dato Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji
Awang Othman, Acting Minister of Religious Affairs cum Chairman of the
Board of Directors of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah who
presented the prizes to the winners.
Also present at the event were the
granddaughters of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei
Darussalam, YangAmat Mulia Pengiran Anak Raheemah Sanaul Bolkiah and
Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Hariisah Widadul Bolkiah, representing
Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah School.
In his speech, the guest of honour
stated that drug abuse is a social illness that may lead to other form
of negative social behaviour such as stealing, dishonesty and theft.
The anti-drugs competition was
organised as part of the ministry's efforts to remind children of the
dangers of drug abuse and at the same time to combat the misuse of
drugs amongst students.
The competition was split into three
categories: Anti-DrugsAdvertorial Competition, "A" TeamAntiDrugs
Competition andAnti-Drugs Choir competition.
Sekolah
Menengah Pengiran Anak Puteri Hjh Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah was the
champion for the 2006 Anti-Drugs Advertorial Competition followed by
Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan.
Third place went to St George's
School while SUAMP Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit and Sekolah
Menengah Sultan Jamalul Alam came in fourth and fifth respectively.
Meanwhile, Maktab Sains Paduka Seri
Begawan Sultan won first place for the "A" Team Anti-Drugs competition
and Sekolah Menengah PengiranAnak Puteri Hjh Rashidah Sa'adatul
Bolkiah came in second place. Third, fourth and fifth place went to
SOAS College, Sekolah Menengah Sufri Bolkiah and Sekolah Menengah
Sayyidina Hussain respectively. Best participant for this category was
awarded to Fatin Radziah binte Ramli of Sekolah Menengah Pengiran Anak
Puteri Hjh Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah.
For the Anti-Drugs Choir Competition
category, Orang Kaya Besar Imas Subok Primary School won first place.
Second place went to PDS International School and third place went to
Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Primary School. Pehin Dato Jamil
Primary School and Sultan Hassan
Bangar Primary School came in fourth and fifth place respectively.
Best lyrics category was awarded to Sultan Hassan Bangar Primary
School.
Meanwhile, Sekolah Menengah Menglait
was awarded best organisation for anti-drugs forum.
An exhibition put forward by the
participants of the Anti-Drugs "A" Team was also held during the prize
