Developers Urged To Follow Rules

Bandar Seri Begawan - Pehin Dato Seri Awang Haji Abdullah bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar, Minister of Development, yesterday urged developers of buildings and lands to comply to approved construction and building designs.

"Individuals, landowners, developers, consultants, contractors and the general public should all support and create an orderly development based on the regulations, guidelines and standards that have been prepared.

The involvement of all levels of society is instrumental by respecting neighbours and obeying the regulations of land developing and building which are in place," he said during the 1s` annual general meeting of 'Koperasi Ikatan Teluk Mewah ' Bhd.

The guidelines issued are for the interest of the public. Selfish attitude to seek profit alone without taking any regard of the environment and society in the long run will present a negative image towards the process of our country's development, he said.

`Speaking on Koperasi Ikatan Teluk Mewah, the minister said it has succeeded to establish cooperation, organised a general meeting,set up a petrol station at Kg. Mentiri and in active private sector, it can move and strengthen the development of this nation's economy.

Earlier, the chairman of the board of directors of Koperasi Ikatan Teluk Mewah Bhd Haji Umar Bin Muhammad said that they are preparing to implement other economic projects that can add to the revenue of the Koperasi.
