Blessing Ceremony For New Van

Bandar Seri Begawan - A blessing ceremony for a new van of the Youth Development Centre Cooperative was held yesterday.

The guest of honour at the function was the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Pehin Major General (Rtd) Dato Hj Mohammad Bin Hj Daud, who officiated the blessing ceremony.

Also present were permanent secretaries and senior officers at the ministry as well as members of the Youth Development Centre. The centre, which is under the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, is aimed at equipping youths in the country with skills in an effort to produce skilled labour and improve job opportunities for them in the country.

The Youth Development Centre Cooperative was set up by a board of directors and former students of the centre.

The Brunei Industrial Development Body (BINA) assists in giving consultation and advice on the management of the cooperative. Presently, there are 21 staff manning the cooperative.

The vehicle will be used to deliver goods to clients of the Youth Development Centre Cooperative.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
