Dispose Rubbish Properly, Residents Told

Bandar Seri Begawan - Responsible citizens are urged to adopt a positive attitude by disposing their garbage at proper disposal points.

A member of a village consultative council stressed the importance of disposing rubbish at designated places as one of the unauthorised disposal points has been the compound of a mosque in Lambak Kanan.

"There is a need for a sign to be put up advising litterbugs to stop throwing their rubbish there.

"Not only is a mosque a place of worship but the rubbish attracts pests such as rats, cats and dogs searching for food. It is hoped residents will respect the mosque and their village and stop throwing their garbage there. They should dispose rubbish at designated places only," he said. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
