Two Matthews Funniest Of Them All

Bandar Seri Begawan - The HSBC Speakers Group, which is affiliated with Toastmasters International, recently held a humorous speech contest at the Brunei Hotel in the capital.

The event saw four bankers - Matthew Martin, John Tse Tow, Matthew Yun and Ida Nazrena - battling it out for the top spot.

Each contestant was asked to deliver a 5-6 minute funny speech, and was judged on the delivery, display of vocal variety, effective use of gestures and language, and humour.

Representatives of the Brunei Speakers Club, who judged the competitors, said they had a tough time choosing the winner as all contestants were able to deliver quality speeches.

After much deliberation, Matthew Yun was named the champion, followed by Matthew Martin.

The two Matthews will represent the club at the Area K6 Humorous Speech Contest against toastmasters from the Brunei Speakers Club and Otters Toastmasters Club at the Brunei Hotel on September 17.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
