Higher Education Career Planning
Programmes Of HRD Services
Bandar Seri
Begawan - HRD Services will be holding an information session
on the higher education career planning programmes that they hope to
introduce as part of their services, stated a press release.
HRD
Services, the provider of professional placement services into UK and
Australia universities, have partnered with one of UK's most reputable
organisations, to help students make infomed decisions about the right
career choice and finding an appropriate course at the right
university.
Choosing an appropriate career is a
complicated process - it involves matching the student's interests,
skills and academic aptitudes to suitability for a right career.
This also has to be related to
opportunities in Brunei.
"There is increasing pressure on
students to choose a career that will assure secure employment upon
returning from their further studies," said Hjh Rafiah Hj Momin, the
Director of HRD Services.
"However, students can be very naive
when it comes to what their chosen career entails, or whether their
personal qualities match the requirements of a particular job.
"Once at university, the students
would be reluctant to 'drop out' but at the same time staying on could
lead to poorperformance and unhappiness."
"A personal profiling assessment will
help students get to know themselves, and also provide the necessary
skills to do their own research into the appropriate course and career
path."
The information sessions, to be held
on Friday September 15 at10.30am and 2.30pm, will describe how the
career planning programmes work, the type of information they can
provide, and how they can help the students to narrow down his or her
career as well as further studies options.
Participation for the session, which
is going to be held at HRD Services Global Education Link, Simpang 34,
Jalan Telanai in Beribi, is free.
The number of seats is limited, so
interested parties, especially parents, A-level students and school
career advisors, should make prior reservations by calling HRD
Services on 2650800. -- Courtesy of Borneo
