The Mosque Affairs Department
yesterday held its 'Customers Day' with a display showcasing the
activities undertaken by the department, variety of books, collection
of old pictures, and the latest happenings in and around the mosque.
Present at the event were Mosque
Affairs Department Acting Director Hj Abd Kahar bin Hj Hussin, senior
officers from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the departments
under it, as well as specially invited guests.
The main aim of the Mosque Affairs
Department is to create an 'ummah' with a sound Akidah, Syariah,
Akhlak, Taqwa and Keilmuan.
Their mission is to make the mosque a
centre of Ibadah, community and development of education and
knowledge.
The functions and responsibilities of
the department are to care for the administration and management of
mosques; be responsible in the affairs of Penta'miran of mosque;
responsible in planning, developing, extending and caring of the
mosque building; educating mosque officers as well as Mosque Affairs
Department officers; preparing Friday and Hari Raya sermons; and
updating the library of the Mosque Affairs Department, among others.
