Actyon, one of the latest offerings from SsangYong in the sultanate, is regarded as being in a class of its own in a new category known as the 'Sports Utility Coupe' (SUC).

The name Actyon is derived from the words 'Active' and 'Youth'- a statement which reveals the true spirit of a rugged and stylish vehicle for the adventurous and young at heart.

Imported and distributed in Brunei by TCY Motors Sdn Bhd, the 2WD SsangYong Actyon features a 2,000cc automatic transmission XDi200 XVT Diesel engine that produces a maximum output of 141ps.

The highly-efficient and clean-burning engine produces a maximum torque of 310Nm over the widest possible 'rpm' range for better acceleration either from standstill or while overtaking. In addition, the XDi200 XVT engine boasts a 4-Speed Automatic Transmission featuring Power Mode technology, which can be used to achieve maximum output, and Winter Mode for greater control and safety on slippery roads.

The Actyon's suspension - provided by double wishbones in the front and 5-link suspension in the rear - gives a smoother ride than you would normally get from some passenger cars.

Interior-wise, stylish black tone materials are infused with bright chrome lines, creating a sporty coupe-like feel.

Standard features of the Actyon include a driver's airbag, 16-inch alloy wheels, parking aid system, keyless entry and alarm system.

As a member of the new SUC category, the Actyon combines the unique styling and great driving performance similar to those of a coupe with the durability of an SUV.

The exterior features of the Actyon include a shark-like frontal design and eagle-eye headlamps that project an overall rugged yet dynamic frontal image. The rear styling meanwhile resembles the wedge-shaped profile of a sports car. The side view of the Actyon meanwhile presents the rugged outlook of an SUV.

The new model from SsangYong, which uses the same key parts, engine production technology, testing standards and testing methods used by Mercedes-Benz, allows passengers to experience a quiet and comfortable ride similar to a petrol driven engine.

Priced at B$37,238 on the road, the new SsangYong Actyon will be officially launched on Friday, September 15 at the TCY Batu Besurat Showroom.
