QAF FC-Majra FC Showdown

Bandar Seri Begawan - QAF FC will take on Majra FC in the first quarterfinal of the 2006 League Cup at Belapan field, Berakas at 8pm today.

QAF FC advanced to the quarterfinals after a convincing 3-0 win over Perkasa a fortnight ago.

Goals from Viban Francis Bayong, Riwandi Wahit and Ak Md Kamaiul Ariffin Pg Ramlee had sealed the victory for QAF FC.

They will start the quarterfinal round with a fresher pair of legs despite missing their anchorman Ito Dan who was dismissed in the win against Perkasa. But the team will have enough depth in midfield to replace Dan.

Majra FC advanced to the quarterfinals after they beat Jerudong FC 3-1 on Sunday night.

Redzuan Khan Ahman scored a hat-trick for the team to advance, while Jasle Nasri scored a consolation goal for Jerudong FC.

The other three quarterfinal matches will pit AH United against Kasuka on Sept 19, Kota Ranger against Wijaya FC on Sept 16 and ABDB taking on March United on Sept 17. All matches will be played at the Belapan field at 8pm. The semifinals will be on Nov 17 and 18 and the final on Nov 24. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
