Local Teams Finish Second, Third In Sarawak Regatta Festival

Bandar Seri Begawan - A total of 40 participants from teams Majara Brunei Darussalam A and B recently won second and third place respectively in the Asean International Tourism Sarawak Regatta Festival 2006 held in Kuching.

Six teams, including Indonesia, Dubai, Singapore and Brunei, took part in the championship held at Water Front Kuching, Sabah on September 3.

The tournament was held in conjunction with Malaysia's 49th National Day celebrations.

Sambas team from Indonesia emerged as the overall winner. Meanwhile, Majara Brunei Darussalam team A also grabbed third place in the Sumbangasih category. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
