RIPAS Mosque Elects New Takmir Committee

Bandar Seri Begawan - A meeting to elect the takmir committee for the year 2006 to 2008 was recently held at the Raja Isteri Pg Anak Hjh Saleha (RIPAS) Mosque in Kg Rimba.

The meeting was chaired by the RIPAS Mosque chief Imam, Hj MohdAfdzillah Hj Mohd Yussof.

The new takmir committee comprises the Penghulu of Muk m Gadong 'A% Awg Hj Tahamit Hi Ludin as patron; Hj Mohd Afdzillah Hj Mohd Yussof as chairman; Hj Awg Hj Metusin as deputy chairman; Major (Rtd) Zakaria Jinin as secretary; Awg Hj Yaakub Hj Nasir as assistant secretary; and a RIPAS Mosque officer as treasurer.

The advisors are Village Head of Kg Rimba, Awg Puspawira Hj Mohd Noor; Village Head of Skim Tanah Kurnia Rakyat Jati Rimba, Hj Sisa Hj Ahmad; Village Head of Rancangan Perpindahan Negara Rimba, Hj Asli Hj Abdul Latif; Awg Ahmad Hj Kabun; and Major (Rtd) Pg Hj Muhammad.

The meeting started with the recital of al-Fatihah. The new secretary, Major (Rtd) Zakaria Jinin, said the main tasks of the new committee are to promote the mosque as a place of get-together for worshippers and to safeguard the mosque from being misused by undesirable elements such as deviationists.
