By Rosli Abidin Yahya

Bandar Seri Begawan - A member of the Brunei Youth Council (MBB) is currently participating in a workshop in Kuala Lumpur, which explores and addresses issues of professionalism in youth work in Asia.

MBB Deputy President Pengiran Haji Suhaimi Pengiran Wahid said MBB has sent Mohd Zefri Ariff Mohd Zain Ariff to attend the workshop, which runs from Sept 10 to 16.

Organised by the International Youth Centre in Kuala Lumpur and the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia, the workshop is jointly organised with the cooperation of the Commonwealth Youth Programme (CYP), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Asian Youth Council (AYC), Committee for Asean Youth Cooperation (CAYC) and the Malaysian Youth Council.

Pengiran Haj i Suhaimi said the objectives of the workshop - themed `Advancing Youth Work Professionally' - are to determine the common and diverse areas of youth work practices in the region; and to share knowledge and experiences on professional practices in youth work.

"Future cooperation and collaboration will also be discussed where it is hoped a mechanism for future collaboration and partnership programmes can be achieved." he said. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
