Cook Up A Feast & Take Home A

Begawan - The Women Institute (WI) Muara branch - with
cooperation from the Women Bureau of Mukim Serasa - will soon be
organising competitions in cake-making, cooking and flower
arrangements, in conjunction with the monarch's 60"' birthday
celebrations.
The competition will take place on
Sunday, September 17, at the Kapok Primary School Multipurpose Hall.
The organisers hope the annually held
competition will expose the hidden talents of the participants,
particularly those from Mukim Serasa.
The organising committee has lined up
12 categories for participants to compete in, among them - steam and
oven cake making; biscuit making; cooking of fish, chicken and meat
dishes; 'acar' making; various types of rice cooking; and flower
arranging.
Parties keen on participating in the
live flowers arrangement competition are advised to make use of live
jungle products such as 'pakis' and other wild flowers that are easily
found here.
Interested parties can contact and
collect their entry forms from the co-chairperson Hajah Bobiah bte
Haji Abu Bakar at 8656822, Maimon bte Abu Bakar at 8854374 or Latifah
at 8815710.
The entry forms are also obtainable
from the village heads of Kg Tanah Jambu, Kg Kapok and Kg Sabun. The
forms must be submitted at 9am on Sept 17, at the competition venue.
The prize presentation will be held
in the afternoon, where an array of interesting prizes awaits winners.
