Charity Carnival Kicks Off In Pasarneka Seria

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Mukim Seria 2006 Charity Sale Carnival, which will be on until September 17, was officiated yesterday morning by BLNG Operation Manager Hj Abd Rahman Hj Siru: in Pasarneka Seria to raise funds for the Belait District Humanitarian Fund.

Penghulu Mukim Seria Hj Jamail Hj Linap, Chairman of the carnival, said that it was heldto help the unfortunate people in the district, as well as giving residents and community members an opportunity to earn extra income while having fun.

The project also reflects on how His Majesty's government, through the Belait District Office at the Ministry of Home Affairs, is constantly supporting or organising such events to help fund those in need, he added.

The programme featured exhibitions from the Belait Pertiwi and Vespa Associations as well as the Oil and Gas Discovery Centre/Ros.

It was also held to prepare for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.

The launching ceremony included entertainment from Chinese and Than traditional dancers as well as contemporary dance performances from Biro Wanita STKRJ Lorong Tiga Seria and Youth BKKSDS Lorong Tiga Seria. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
