Kg Kulapis Residents Vote For New Village Head

Bandar Seri Begawan - Residents of Kampong Kulapis yesterday cast their ballots to decide whether to have former government officer Awang Hj Timor bin Hj Limbang as their new village head.

Among those present at the event was Acting Brunei-Muara District Officer Awang Hj Jamain bin Momin, who during his speech, said though Awang Hj Nayan bin Apong had retired from the position as the village head on December 30, 1999, when he reached the age of 65, he had continued to assume the responsibilities of a village head.

In August, however, the village decided to look for a replacement, and had since found a suitable candidate, 56-year-old Awang Hj Timor bin Hj Limbang. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
