By Achong Tanjong

Bandar Seri Begawan - Thirteen government officials who are participating in the 4t' Development Programme for Middle Management Government Officers (DPMMGO) left yesterday for a study visit to Malaysia from September 11 to 15.

The delegation is led by Awg Haji Rosli bin POKSDSP Haji Mohd Salleh, Administrative Officer Special Grade at the Public Service Department and Dr Hajah Sainah binti Haji Saint, a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Brunei Darussalam, who is also the programme co-ordinator.

During the visit, the Brunei delegates are expected to visit the Malaysian Public Service Department and MAMPU, the Malaysian equivalent of the Management Services Department, where they will be briefed on the Public Sector Reform in Malaysia.

The study visit is part of the nine-week development programme organised by the Public Service Department, Prime Minister's Office and Universiti Brunei Darussalam.

The programme consists of orientation, study visit and project preparation.

Successful completion of the programme requires the participants to attend lectures and seminars and to participate in group discussions, group projects and oral presentations. Participants are evaluated throughout the programme.

The 13-member delegation left for Malaysia without the three participants from Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar, who have joined the development programme for the first time this year and are fully sponsored by the Government of His Majesty in a spirit of friendship and regional cooperation. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
