Development Programme Participants
Leave For Study Visit In Malaysia

Begawan - Thirteen government officials who are participating
in the 4t' Development Programme for Middle Management Government
Officers (DPMMGO) left yesterday for a study visit to Malaysia from
September 11 to 15.
The delegation is led by Awg Haji
Rosli bin POKSDSP Haji Mohd Salleh, Administrative Officer Special
Grade at the Public Service Department and Dr Hajah Sainah binti Haji
Saint, a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Brunei Darussalam, who is also
the programme co-ordinator.
During the visit, the Brunei
delegates are expected to visit the Malaysian Public Service
Department and MAMPU, the Malaysian equivalent of the Management
Services Department, where they will be briefed on the Public Sector
Reform in Malaysia.
The study visit is part of the
nine-week development programme organised by the Public Service
Department, Prime Minister's Office and Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
The programme consists of
orientation, study visit and project preparation.
Successful completion of the
programme requires the participants to attend lectures and seminars
and to participate in group discussions, group projects and oral
presentations. Participants are evaluated throughout the programme.
The 13-member delegation left for
Malaysia without the three participants from Cambodia, Laos and
Myanmar, who have joined the development programme for the first time
this year and are fully sponsored by the Government of His Majesty in
a spirit of friendship and regional cooperation. -- Courtesy of Borneo
