18 Foreigners Nabbed In Saturday
Operation

Begawan - Eighteen foreign nationals were detained during a
joint operation carried out by the Royal Brunei Police Force and the
Law Enforcement Section of the Department of Immigration and National
Registration Saturday night.
The 18 foreigners comprising
Indonesians and Filipinos were arrested for various immigration
offences. Eighteen special passes were also issued during the
operation.
The operation was part of an ongoing
effort of the authorities to ensure that the laws of the nation are
upheld by all especially foreigners working in the country.
The operation was co-led by the
Officer Commanding Police District Brunei and the Senior Chief
Immigration Officer from the Law Enforcement Section.
Five teams comprising 85 law
enforcement personnel were involved in the operation.
They included 59 personnel from the
Royal Brunei Police Force and 26 from the Law Enforcement Section of
the Department of Immigration.
The twelve areas checked were in the
capital city, Jalan Kota Batu, Kianggeh, Gadong, Kiulap and Kampong
Bunut.
Team 1 inspected rented rooms at
Jalan Roberts and two rented houses in Kota Batu, Team 2 targeted two
rented houses at Kg Kianggeh and a rented house at Jalan Kianggeh,
while Team 3 focused on five different rented houses in Kg Kiarong and
a rented room at Jalan Kumbang Pasang.
Team 4 checked a rented house in Kg
Kiulap and three separate rented houses in Kg Kiulap while Team 5 made
an inspection at three different rented houses in Kg Bunut. -- Courtesy of Borneo
