Media Permata journalist to visit
Japan

To better understand the culture and
people of Japan, Dayang Rafidah Jumat, a journalist from Media Permata,
the only local Malay language newspaper, will be in Japan from
tomorrow until September 20 for the Asia-China Press Group Invitation
Programme 2006.
She is going to be joined by a number
of journalists from China HK Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and
Singapore.
During the trip themed "Tourism",
Dayang Rafidah will head to Tokyo as well as Osaka and Hokkaido, and
visit some of Japan's most famous destinations, like Shiretoko
National Park's Unesco World Heritage, Oshinkoshin Falls and Asahiyama
Zoological Park, among others.
Dayang
Rafidah said, " I am very excited to be able to visit Japan. This will
be my first trip there and I would like to visit as many tourist sites
as possible."
She is also going to take a closer
look at some presidency campaigns by visiting the headquarters of
Japan's Ministry of Land Infrastructure and Transport.
Last Thursday, the Embassy of Japan
in Brunei hosted a luncheon for Dayang Rafidah at Zaika Restaurant in
Yayasan Shopping Complex.
On hand to brief her about the trip
was Minister Counsellor Mr Koichi Morita. Also present were staff
members from the embassy and previous participants of the Japanese
programme.
