MoU

Begawan - The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for
collaboration on five areas of programmes and projects between SEAMEO
VOCTECH and Pusat Pengembangan Penaturan Guru or Technical Teacher
Upgrading Centre - Vocational Education Development Centre (PPPGTVEDC)
Malang, Indonesia took place on Thursday (September 7) at the SEAMED
VOCTECH Regional Centre here.
Director of SEAMEO VOCTECH, Mohamad
bin Abu Bakar, and Dr Murtoyo of PPPGT-VEDC Malang, Indonesia signed
the MoU.
The ceremony was witnessed by Mr
Rasani Abdul Hamid, Special Duties Officer cum Head of International
Affairs Unit, Permanent Secretary's Office, Ministry of
Education, who was also the guest of
honour of the flmction, and Dr Sumarna Surapranata, Director of
Training Development at the Ministry of National Education, Indonesia.
Aimed at enhancing cooperation on
several areas including sub-regional regular training, customised
training and staff exchange programme as well as consultancy services,
the MoU will be maintained on a three-year duration. Terms of
references were clarified and had been agreed upon by both parties.
Meanwhile, SEAMEO VOCTECH Director
said an entrepreneurial skill course for 34 participants at VEDC was
conducted by a specialist from SEAMED VOCTECH under the first MoU with
Malang in 2000.
In return, a consultation visit by
the previous SEAMEO VOCTECH Director at the VEDC Malang paved way to
preparations for the centre's ISO 9001:2000 certification project in
