Roadshow Raises Funds For SMARTER

Bandar Seri Begawan - A charity Fair to collect funds for the SMARTER association was held at the JPCC Playground yesterday. The public are encouraged to support the event which will be held till tomorrow.

The 'Roadshow Family Fun Day 2006', which was organised by Joint Kembara Bikers, Loyal Cruz Youth Club and Toyota Old School Club, was participated by government and private agencies who organised a number of activities and competitions for family members to participate.

Among the participants were the Narcotics Control Bureau and AntiCorruption Bureau which provided more information on misuse of drugs and tribulations of corruption.

There were also exhibition booths set up by the Ministry of Health, and Environmental and Recreational Department. Supporters of the event included the Empire Hotel & Country Club, Aewon Garment & Embroidery, Syarikat Katering Hj Zainal bin Hj Safar, Ahan Thai Restaurant & Catering, Nestle Product Sdn Bhd and Har un's Gym.

The roadshow which has the theme `A Fresher and Cleaner Air for a Peaceful Nation' also aims to bring together the younger generation to help out in the charitable events. The event also informs the public of the importance of health for all.

A mini exhibition of classic cars such as the 1974 Corolla Coupe and 1974-77 Toyota Celica was also organised by the Toyota Old School Club Brunei. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
