CHMS Student Top Olympiad Awards

Bandar Seri Begawan - CHUNG Hwa Middle School students did their school proud when they won this year's Olympiad competitions - the SSSO, the PSSO and PSMO - organised by STEP Centre in partnership with Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP).

For the Secondary School Science Olympiad (SSSO), Andrew Koay Yi Jie of F4Sc won the gold medal. He also won the best in Theory Paper 1 and Best in Theory Paper 2 awards. Wong Kuo Hong, also of F4Sc won the bronze medal. Andrew and Kuo Hong had to compete with 143 students from 38 secondary schools throughout the state to get their awards and cash prizes.

For the Primary School Science Olympiad_ (PSSO), Lim Yew Ming of P6 Express won the bronze medal. He also won the Best in Practical Paper Award for this category

Jasper Pang Yi Ern was selected to represent Brunei in the International Primary Science Olympiad to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia in November. He also got sixth place in this competition.

Yew Ming and Jasper had to compete with 220 students from 77 primary schools throughout the country to win their awards and cash prizes.

For the Primary School Mathematics Olympiad (PSMO), Law Vi Yen of P6 Express, was also selected to represent Brunei in the International Primary Science Olympiad to be held in Jakarta in November this year. He also won the silver medal in the competition.

Pang Yen Yee and Han Yi Chour, both of P6 Express, won the bronze medal and the 7`1 place respectively. Vi Yen, Yen Yee and Yi Ch our had to compete with 264 students from 92 primary schools to win their awards and' cash prizes. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
