Orientation Course On Worker's Insurance & Compensation

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Philippine Embassy in Brunei will tomorrow conduct a basic orientation course on workmen's insurance and compensation, and other workers' welfare and protection matters.

The Philippine Embassy said it has invited a noted private law practitioner to talk on workmen's insurance and compensation from 1 pm to 4pm, the Embassy said.

"The basic orientation course aims to enhance the knowledge and understanding of overseas Filipino workers on labour, immigration and other laws of Brunei," said Philippine Ambassador to Brunei Virginia H. Benavidez.

For next Sunday, September 17, Brunei Immigration officials have been invited to speak on `The Immigration Laws of Brunei Darussalam', the Philippine Embassy said.

The important features of the Labour Laws of Brunei Darussalam, the processes and procedures involved in the employment of overseas workers and assistance for Filipinos who encounter problems in the Sultanate, legal matters, claims, non-payment of wages and other labour issues will be also be discussed.
