Battle For Bolds In Silat

Begawan - Seven finals in the silat event of the 3rd Pesta
Sukan Remaja were contested at the Multi Purpose Hall of the Pg Anak
Puteri Hajah Masna Secondary School in Lambak Kanan yesterday, while
six more will take place tomorrow at the same venue.

Mariani Md Ardi of Tutong won the gold in Women's Class B - for
exponents weighing between 50-55kg - after defeating Temburong's
Surinah Bakir. Meanwhile, Belait's DkAmal Bahjah Pg Md Ali beat Siti
Norhamizah Abg Pewira of Tutong for the gold in Women's Class D (60-65
kg).
It was no sweat to the gold for
Temburong's Ak Mohd Reduan Pg Lufti in the final of Men's Class G
(75-80 kg) as his opponent was disqualified.
The gold in Men's Class E (65-70 kg)
was won by Salmi Isal of Tutong, who beat Md Ajmal Azman Sudin, while
Brunei-Muara's Md Aizuddin Hj Alidi beat RBAF Sport Council's Md
Sahrul bin Duah for the gold in Men's Class F (70-75 kg).
RBAF Sport Council won the gold in
Men's Class J (8 5-90 kg), through Halifullah Puasa, who beat Ak Md
Hassan Hasiffuddin of Brunei-Muara. Md Zambri Zaini of Belait emerged
victorious in Men's Class B (50-55 kg), beating Brunei Muara's Ak Mohd
Jamil Pg Jaludin for the gold.
There were also three semifinals
yesterday. Belait's Khuzaiman bin Ahmad and Md Saiful Syamsir bin Sawi
of RBAF Sports Council will face-off for Men's Class D (60-65 kg) gold
tomorrow, after both their semi opponents were -disqualified.
In the Men's Class C (55-60 kg), Md
Azri Dzulkefli of Tutong beat Temburong's Md Irwandi Zulkifli to set
up a showdown with Mohd Amali Hj Malik of the RBAF Sports Council in
the final tomorrow.
The other finals that will take place
tomorrow are Women's Class A (4550 kg); Women's Class C (55-60 kg);
Men's Class 1(85-90 kg); and Men's Class A (45-50 kg). -- Courtesy of Borneo
