Indonesian Artistes Touch Down In
Brunei

Begawan - Kontes Dangdut Indonesia (KDI) artistes Eny, Imelda
and Andy as well as TVRI host Lina Hara arrived at the Brunei
International Airport yesterday evening.
Here for the first time, they are
scheduled to perform Sunday to collect funds for victims affected by
natural disasters in Indonesia.
Setting foot on Brunei soil, Eny
said, "This country is so peaceful, quiet, clean and impressive."
Eny
is a product of the third KDI, a reality talent search programme in
Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian artistes
said they intend to put on a great show, singing 32 songs, which will
not be limited to dangdut tracks alone.
"We will also sing pop rock, slow
rock and dangdut rock aside from the original dangdut music," said
Imelda, who is a product of the second KDI, together with Andy.
"We hope people will attend our
concert not only to be entertained but also to donate," they said.
Tickets are priced at $5 a piece and
can be purchased at Afima Express Remittance, Satay Ala Jawa
Sengkurong, Asma Hotel, Satay Ala Jawa Sengkurong, Restoran Hj Judin,
Kebab Corner Rofi Moll, Gerai No 9 Anggerek Desa, Cafe Jawa Timur,
Restoran AH Hanafiah, and Restoran PgJamilah, among others.
Organised
by the Association of Indonesian Community (AIC) and Indonesian
Workers Cooperative (IWC) with support from main sponsor Afima Express
Remittance - official partner of BCA Remittance - the artistes will
perform from IOam to 4pm at the JPCC Amphitheatre on Sept 10.
The performance will be backed by
local band Orkes Melayu (Dangdut) 'Dendang Satria' Kampung Bunut, led
by Cikgu Haji Yahya Haji Mahmud, a retired education officer and
renowned musician here.
