Indonesian Artistes To Fly In For
Charity Dangdut Concert

Begawan - A delegation comprising three artistes of Kontes
Dangdut Indonesia (KDI) Imelda, Eny and Andy, TVRI host Lina Hara and
their respective managers are scheduled to arrive at the Brunei
International Airport this evening at about 6.05pm in time for their
Sunday performance to raise funds for victims of natural disasters in
their home country.
Organised
by the Association of Indonesian Community (AIC) and Indonesian
Workers Cooperative (IWC) with support from main sponsor Afima Express
Remittance (official partner of BCA Remittance), the concert entitled
Konsert Amal Indonesia 2006 will be held at the JPCCAmphitheatre in
Jerudong from I Oam until about 4pm on September 10.
The performance will be backed by
local band Orkes Melayu (Dangdut) `DendangSatria' Kampung Bunut led by
Cikgu Hj Yahya Hj Mahmud, a retired education officer and renowned
musician here.
The head of IWC, Ali Mahfudz, said
fans including Indonesian workers in the country are invited to
welcome the artistes on arrival at the airport.
"Fans are also invited to meet the
stars for free at the office of Afima Express Remittance at Jalan
McArthur in the capital at 3pm on Friday, September 8," he said.
"The stars will also be having dinner
at the residence of Pg Hjh Masni in Kg Kilanas this Friday," he said.
Ali Mahfudz called on fans including
Indonesian workers here to get their tickets s soon as tickets have
been selling like hot cakes. "We are expecting a crowd of 5,000 to
10,000 people to see the concert to support the donation drive," he
added.
Tickets priced at $5 to see the
concert can be purchased from Afima Express Remittance, Satay Al Jawa
Sengkurong, Asma Hotel, Restoran Hj Judin, Kebab Corner Rofi Moll,
Gerai No 9 Anggerek Desa, Cafe Jawa Timur, Restoran A H Hanafiah, and
Restoran Pg Jamilah, among others.
The artistes will sing about 32 songs
including evergreen dangdut numbers such as Bang Thoyib, My Heart,
Anoman Obong, Gebyar-Gebyar, Laguku, Nona Trendy, Ingatlah, Dunia
Cinta, Darah Muda, Nirmala, Syurga Di Telapak Kaki lbu, Jujur,
Liku-Liku, Kopi Dangdut, Cinta Sabun Mandi, Mbah Dukun, Apa Ertinya
Cinta, Wakuncar, Laksamana Raja Di Laut, Gadis atau Janda, and Pacar
Dunia Akhirat.
A Nusantara Bazaar will also be held
at the compound of the JPCC Amphitheatre, Jerudong and part of the
proceeds will go to charity.
Organised
to commemorate the 6155 Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia,
the concert is also meant to provide entertainment to the locals as
well as members of the Indonesian community who love dangdut music.
