Lumapas Youth Fest Draws Big Crowd

Bandar Seri Begawan - A large crowd including local residents and those from other districts flocked to the field of Lumapas Primary School last Sunday where a youth festival was organised by PERLU in conjunction with His Majesty's 60th birthday celebration.

Present at the festival was the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Jemat bin Haji Ampal and the Penghulu of Mukim Lumapas, Awang Haji Bakar bin Mansor.

The hot weather did not deter the public from joining in the festivities of the fun-filled and event-packed festival.

Various activities including games such as tug-of-war, golf and netball were organised and parents and their children were seen actively participating in these activities.

It is hoped that such events would help encourage the active involvement of youth in community activities so as to strengthen the spirit of togetherness and cooperation between youths and their community. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
