Local Media, CHMS Alumni Association Celebrate World Journalist Day

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Chung Hwa Middle School Alumni Association hosted a World Journalist Day celebration with local media personnel last Saturday evening at the Big Thumb Restaurant in Jalan Gadong.

Present to welcome the journalists and representatives from United Daily, See Hua Daily, Borneo Bulletin-and Media Permata were Mr Lim Kee Soon, chairman of CHMS Alumni Association, Mr Lee Nyuk On, the vice chairman and Mr Chan Sui Kiat, the honorary chairman.

In his speech, Mr Lim said this was the first time that the local media celebrated

World Journalist Day together with members of the association. He hoped that the event would bridge closer ties between the association and the local media.

During the celebration, the media personnel together with members of CHMS Alumni Association cut a World Journalist Day cake to mark the event.

Apart from the dinner, the media representatives were also presented with a souvenir and a certificate of appreciation for participating in a friendly basketball match in conjunction with World Journalist Day held on the same afternoon. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
