By Cedrina Norlaila Abd Clark

Bandar Seri Begawan - Sheraton Utama had an eventful evening last Friday for its Javanese Food Festival (which ends today). The hotel's restaurant, Tasek Brasserie, was packed with many guests who came to be entertained.

There was a fashion show with children fromthe Indonesian embassy, who were dressed in colourful and traditional attire, each symbolising a different province on the Island of Java.

Staff members were also transformed into the Ngamen or street musicians, who performed and serenaded diners from one table to another.

In addition, there were a treasure hunt and documentary screening, as well as complimentary shoulder and neck massages courtesy of Cantik Beauty line.

A mini-exhibition showcasing the Java Island as a tourist destination was also set up in the lobby.

Chef Bambane from Sheraton Mustika Yogyakarta in Indonesia and other creative local experts had prepared some popular Javanese authentic cuisine.

The food festival is supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia and sponsored by RBA.
