Sultan At Thanksgiving Ceremony

Begawan - His Majesty the Sultan and Yang DiPertuan of Brunei
Darussalam, Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha and Her
Royal Highness Pengiran Isteri Azrinaz Mazhar last night graced the "Majlis
Kesyukuran Anjuran Orang-Orang Yang DiKurniai Gelaran".
Also at the event were HRH Prince
Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah The Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the
Prime Minister's Office, HRH Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran
Anak Sarah, HRH Prince Abdul Azim, HRH Prince Abdul Malik, HRH Prince
Abdul Mateen and other members of the royal family.
His Royal Highness Prince Hj Sufri
Bolkiah meanwhile in a sabda highlighted the importance of those that
have received titles. The titles, explained HRH Prince Sufri were
indeed an honour that symbolised a higher strata of the community.
HRH Prince Sufri also advised those
who have been given the titles to uphold their responsibilities and
their undivided allegiance to His Majesty the Sultan as the country's
supreme leader.
Last night's special thanksgiving
ceremony was the first of its kind to be held in the country, that
initially' was forwarded in the 'Persidangan Majlis MesyuaratAdat
Istiadat' May 4, 2006 that resulted in the council fully supporting
the idea.
Recital of Doa by the State Mufti,
Pehin Dam Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Hj Awg Abdul Aziz
Juned, was also held at the function.
Following His Majesty's titah and
sabda by HRH Prince Sufri Bolkiah, a 'Sembah Ikrar' (Pledge of
Loyalty) was recited by state dignitaries led by HRH Prince Haji Sufri
Bolkiah as the Chairman of the organising committee.
Shortly after the recital of 'Sembah
Ikrar', HRH Prince Haji Sufri along with other members of the
organising committee presented a 'Pesambah' to His Majesty prior to
the 'Santap'. The function was held at the Riqun International Hotel
