He said every donor will receive a free medical checkup, free bottle of Elken spirulina supplement worth $17.20, certificate and free food and refreshment.

The Malaysian Book of Records has awarded Elken Sdn Bhd with the "Largest Blood Donation Held by a Single Organisation' 'for three consecutive years from 2003 to 2005.

The collaborative effort in the three countries involved 2,000 working committee members, 300 nurses, 80 medical doctors and members of Red Crescent Society.

The collected blood will boost blood banks in the three countries that will help accident victims, people requiring surgeries and organ transplants, and long-term blood-needy patients like leukaemia, haemophilia and anaemic victims.

The "Anyone Can Save a Life" blood donation campaigns to date has yielded 20,140 bags of blood which has been estimated to benefit 60,420 patients throughout the three nations since 2002. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
