Locals Deny Stealing Rods

Bandar Seri Begawan - Two local men aged 41 and 39 pleaded not guilty to stealing 31 pieces of VRC metal rods from a company in Kampong Masin nearly two months ago.

Pg Roslee bin Pg Hj Hitam and Rosman bin Hj Awg Damit, who appeared before the Bandar Magistrates' Court yesterday, denied stealing the metal rods, each three metres in length, belonging to Syarikat Mas Putra on July 4, this year.

Both will appear again in the Magistrates' Court for further mention. The offence is punishable under Section 379 of the Penal Code, which carries imprisonment for a term that may extend to three years, or a fine, or both. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
